With the acceleration of urbanization and economic development in western Guangdong, the future development scale is limited, and the location and throughput of Zhanjiang Airport, which was originally built in xiashan district, Zhanjiang, are embarrassing. According to the long-term plan, it is necessary to choose a suitable place (Wuchuan) between Zhanjiang and Maoming in western Guangdong to build a new airport-Zhanjiang International Airport. Yuexi International Airport moved the former Zhanjiang Airport to Tangzhu Town, Wuchuan, Zhanjiang. The new plan not only accelerates the "integration" strategic layout of Zhanjiang's "eastward expansion" and Maoming's "southward expansion", but also broadens the development space after the relocation of the new airport.
