In recent years, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has conscientiously implemented the relevant decision-making arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, adhered to the people-centered development idea, integrated the concepts of active aging and healthy aging into all aspects of urban planning, construction and management, and urban transformation and development, and made great efforts to create a livable environment for the elderly. Taking the creation of a national barrier-free city as the starting point, we will guide all localities to implement laws, standards and norms for barrier-free environment construction in urban planning, construction and management. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, our Ministry, together with relevant departments, named and commended 146 cities, counties and towns that created barrier-free environment in China.
