I haven't seen the movie "Hawthorn Tree Love" yet. I heard it was shot in Yichang. So let's go to the shooting scene. One of the important venues is the "City No.8 Middle School" in the movie. The location of this school is Jiangjiamiao Primary School in the 809 old factory not far from the urban area.

809 is an old third-line factory, and people with some historical knowledge naturally know the concept of "third line". During the period of 1964-80, in order to prepare for war, the state invested huge funds, manpower and material resources to build a number of industrial projects with dual use for military and civilian purposes. Times have changed, and most of these factories have been relocated or dissolved. Factory 809 is one of them. This old factory near the mouth of Xiling Gorge has basically become a small empty city, and those buildings with obvious characteristics of the times have been almost completely preserved.

The old factory is located in the depths of Xialaoxi at the mouth of Xiling Gorge, and now the transportation is convenient. As long as the traffic conditions are good, it takes about half an hour to drive from Yichang. It takes half an hour to come to such a good place with mountains and water, which naturally becomes the first choice for many people to play on weekends. Along the way, there were either tourists or picnickers on the roadside. I remember when I was in primary school, the school organized a spring outing. I sometimes came here, but the traffic was inconvenient at that time, and I felt it would take a long time to come by car. Speaking of 809, it's like a place on the horizon.

In the center of the old factory, you can see the school. In fact, this is not the location of "City No.8 Middle School" in the movie. This school is the original 809 children's primary school. Later, the factory moved to the city, and the school was handed over to the local Jiangjiamiao town. But now most of the young people in this town have gone to work in the city, and there are very few left-behind children. The school closed down when it was difficult to recruit students. Although the buildings here have been abandoned, they have not been damaged by the depths of the mountains, and the buildings of that year have been completely preserved.

I didn't exist in this world in the 1970s, but I did read some books about this period. Every time I see the description in the book, I always fantasize about the scene at that time. This time, it is a slogan and sculpture rewritten by Jiangjiamiao Primary School to meet the needs of shooting. This authentic 70' s building can be said to have completely restored the 70' s appearance.

There is a huge hawthorn tree in the "Bailihuang" scenic spot in Yiling District, Yichang City, which is exactly the same as the scene described in the original book, and it is also one of the shooting places of the film.
