Activity introduction

From March 2009 to February 20 1 1, the "learning to do" astronomical society carried out the scientific and technological practice of finding stars, made use of the existing astronomical equipment of the school, consulted and analyzed various astronomical phenomena, made a monthly practice plan, held more than 60 observation activities, took thousands of photos, recorded various astronomical phenomena and wrote many astronomical reports. ...

Activity background

From 1609 to 2009, it has been 400 years since Galileo made his first astronomical observation with a telescope. This is 400 years of the glory and dream of the telescope, 400 years of the continuous development of human cosmology, and 400 years of the human eye moving towards 65.438+037 billion light years. To commemorate the astronomical observation with telescopes, the United Nations announced that 2009 will be designated as the international year of astronomy.

International year of astronomy 2009 (IYA2009) is a global astronomical activity jointly sponsored by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which aims to help people re-recognize their place in the universe and thus stimulate their spirit of exploration and discovery. The launching ceremony and press conference of China international year of astronomy 2009 will be held in Beijing Planetarium on June 5438+ 10/0. Around the theme of "exploring our universe", a series of commemorative activities, academic activities and popular science activities will be held.

Wenzhou No.3 Middle School makes full use of the existing astronomical equipment-20 Sirius telescopes, 12 astronomical constellations, fixed astronomical observation sites, etc. -Since the implementation of the scientific and technological characteristic project of "learning and doing in one", the school-based course of astronomical observation has been set up for all students in comprehensive practical activities, including observation training, skillful assembly and use of astronomical telescopes, and learning to guide stars. Explore the causes of astronomical phenomena in class and establish the concept of astronomical space with models; Important astronomical observations, such as solar eclipses, lunar eclipses, planetary conjunctions and other rare astronomical phenomena; Write a special observation report; Celestial photography, which comprehensively uses the knowledge and skills learned to take celestial photos; Small astronomical products, such as making telescopes, moving star maps, simple world time zone calculators, sundials and modified observation instruments; Organize and participate in national, municipal and district astronomical activities.

In 2009, international year of astronomy and Wenzhou No.3 Middle School carried out a series of scientific and technological practice activities with the theme of "exploring our starry sky".

Activity purpose

1. Knowledge objective: ① Understand the development status of astronomical research by searching and collecting astronomical reports and the latest scientific achievements and research progress in related fields; ② Improve students' astronomical knowledge through research and practice and various professional astronomical lectures; ③ Promote students' understanding of the universe knowledge in basic science by publicizing exciting discoveries in astronomy.

2. Scientific methods and skill objectives: ① Through a series of astronomical observation activities at school and on the roadside, students can master the basic use of astronomical equipment and the basic methods of astronomical shooting and recording; ② By using different materials, such as plasticine, clay, waste, sponge, plastic, foam template, colored ribbon, colored sand, colored paper, etc. Students can learn how to build models to understand knowledge. (3) Improve students' reading, writing and painting level, and improve their imagination, hands-on ability and creativity through activities such as astronomical painting, short writing in their minds and astronomical knowledge handwritten newspapers; (4) Improve students' social practice ability, communication ability and expression ability by carrying out subject research and a series of investigation activities.

3. Emotional attitude value goal: ① Through various observation activities, students have a strong interest in distant astronomical knowledge; ② Combine the report of survey results with other thematic activities, and promote it comprehensively in the society, so as to cultivate students' awareness of "caring for the starry sky".

Activity method

This practical activity is mainly based on "practical inquiry" and "observation and research method", supplemented by other comprehensive methods.

According to the characteristics of this practical activity, the content, implementation method, operation process and effect of the practical activity are carefully observed and analyzed, and timely feedback and improvement are made, and successful experiences are repeatedly summarized, supplemented by experience summary, literature research and social practice.

Activity implementation steps

After learning that the launching ceremony and press conference of China 2009 international year of astronomy will be held in Beijing Planetarium on June 5438+ 10/0, 2009, and a series of popular science activities will be carried out around the theme of "exploring our universe", the teachers and students of the Astronomical Society are determined to take this opportunity to put forward the scientific and technological practice of "exploring the starry sky"

Active service record

According to the proposed objectives and implementation steps, the school's "learning to do" astronomical society designed observation records, and carried out various astronomical observation activities in various forms such as clubs and school elective courses for more than 60 times in an orderly manner. Especially in July 2009, the experimental class "learning to do" students witnessed the total solar eclipse observation activities and invited you to explore the moon on June 5438+1October 2009. 20 10, 1 "solar eclipse observation activities", 20 10, 12 "share the solar eclipse with you" roadside observation activities and so on. A brief record of the five observations is as follows:

Astronomical telescope is used to observe the starry sky, which can greatly broaden our astronomical observation field of vision. But do you know how to assemble an astronomical telescope? How to observe with astronomical telescope? Today, students of our astronomy elective course will learn to assemble astronomical telescopes and practice using them at the zenith of the school. When students first came into contact with astronomical telescopes, they didn't know where to start at first, and then they could basically find their targets. The teacher also announced the grading criteria for assembling and observing astronomical telescopes: the installation part-the telescope should be installed quickly and accurately, and the names and uses of each part can be accurately stated, and sorted according to the installation speed on the premise of accurate installation; Observation part-first adjust the polar axis to the north pole, and then use the star finder to find the target. The targets can be interchanged during observation; The winner is to find more goals within the specified time and spend less time. The teacher also asked us to continue to practice skillfully and start the competition next time.

Activity summary

1. Every part of the astronomical telescope can't be less. Without it, the best observation effect can't be achieved.

I am proud of learning to assemble astronomical telescope, but I am not skilled enough. I hope to have the opportunity to use it many times;

3. I am very proud of observing things through astronomical telescopes; Eager to observe the moon, the sun and other stars with astronomical telescopes.

In recent days, news and anecdotes about solar eclipse have been frequently reported in newspapers. July 22nd is a rare day in the history of astronomy. There are still nearly 40 minutes before the first loss of the solar eclipse, and we are not idle. We prepared four astronomical telescopes and assembled four astronomical telescopes in 40 minutes. Finally, the students adjusted four astronomical telescopes, all of which were aimed at the dazzling blooming and high above the sun. They have entered everyone's observation field of vision, and the moon has also entered my field of vision. Wow, it looks brand-new, different from what we usually see with the naked eye. The whole moon seems to be full of lines and dots, all large and small circles, as if it had been hit by something sharp. How strange! Some students directly use simple observation equipment made of multilayer negatives, and through the earth equipment, they also prepare special sunglasses to pay attention to the occurrence of solar eclipse at any time.

In two hours, the students and parents of the experimental class experienced the shocking beauty brought by the once-in-a-century "big food" under the guidance of the teacher.

This eclipse left a deep memory for the students, and let them know more about the causes of the eclipse and other eclipse knowledge. This is a very good "eclipse class", which also allows us to consolidate the vague learning content before. Although the weather is hot, the students are enthusiastic and interested. This positive and optimistic spirit of exploration is worth popularizing in future study. Astronomical diaries written by students and solar eclipse works taken by students have won many awards in provincial and municipal astronomical competitions. )

To commemorate the global astronomical activity 100 hour, the Astronomical Society of Wenzhou No.3 Middle School held a roadside astronomical observation activity of "Inviting you to celebrate the 60th birthday of the moon" in Ma 'anchi Park on June 3rd, 2009, and observed the moon with three Sirius telescopes. The day is August 15th of the lunar calendar, and the moon phase is full moon. Observe the shooting records and impart astronomical knowledge to the masses.

Roadside astronomy originated from 1968. At that time, Professor Dobson took a telescope to the streets of San Francisco, California, and invited passers-by to enjoy the starry sky through the telescope. Since then, "roadside astronomy" has gradually developed into a global mass astronomical activity. This time coincides with the 60th anniversary of the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival. The masses were amazed at the close contact with the moon through professional telescopes.

According to the data, this annular eclipse (20 15 10, 65438+65438) is the longest annular eclipse in 3000 years. At the best observation site (on the line of the annular eclipse center, the weather is predicted to be good during the annular eclipse), the annular eclipse process in Kenya (East Africa) (the annular eclipse will even last for 8.5 minutes. Due to geographical reasons, Wenzhou can only see a partial solar eclipse, but this does not affect our enthusiasm for watching this astronomical spectacle. Members of the Astronomical Society of our school set up three astronomical telescopes and more than a dozen small eclipse observation mirrors on the experimental roof early, expecting another astronomical visual feast.

Activity summary

Through observation activities, we once again felt the charm of the solar eclipse, because it happened at sunset. Seeing the moon blocking the sun, the sun went down like a dog, which greatly aroused our enthusiasm for astronomical observation.

In the evening, there will be 18 annual total lunar eclipse in the sky. Our class 7(6) students participated in roadside astronomical observation for the first time. First, practice using astronomical telescope in the playground and debug 12 astronomical telescope. We found the following problems: (1) a lot of screws are missing; (2) The focal length deviation of the lens barrel. Then we set up four professional astronomical telescopes in the square of Saddle Pool Park. Due to the geographical location, we observed some processes of partial solar eclipse. At the same time, we also introduced the knowledge of solar eclipse and astronomical telescope to the past citizens, and they were also curious about watching the process of solar eclipse through astronomical telescope. We are proud of serving the public with what we have learned.

Activity summary

Through observation activities, we witnessed the spectacle of the solar eclipse. It was held in the park and attracted many citizens to watch it. They are also curious about the lunar eclipse on the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar. They used astronomical telescopes to witness the wonderful sight of a lunar eclipse in the first month of the lunar calendar, and they asked us many questions from time to time. As a little teacher of astronomy, we are very proud. At the same time, it attracted Wenzhou TV station to report the activities of our astronomical society.

Every observation activity has improved students' practical operation ability, observation ability, analysis ability and summary ability. Combined with what they have learned in textbooks, their understanding of things has been improved from perceptual to rational, and at the same time, their interest and yearning for learning astronomy have been stimulated. In addition, they have also been well received by the society in roadside astronomical activities. Wenzhou Education Network, Wenzhou Metropolis Daily, Wenzhou Business Daily, Wenzhou City Channel and other media have reported the observation and practice activities of our astronomical society.

The harvest and experience of the activity

Through the practice of "exploring our starry sky", all the students involved wrote down their experiences, totaling more than 20 thousand words. During the activities, students exercised their social practice ability, cultivated their innovative spirit and scientific literacy, enhanced their keen interest in learning and practicing astronomical popular science knowledge, experienced the significance of practice, and kept maturing in repeated challenges.
