History and Culture Suzhou was founded in 514 BC. Helu, the father of King Wu Fucha, ordered Wu Zixu, a rebel general of Chu, to build Helu City. It has a history of more than 2,500 years.

During the Spring and Autumn Period, this was the capital of the State of Wu, and many monuments related to Xi Shi and Wu Zixu are still preserved. In the ninth year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty (AD 589), it was first called Suzhou and it is still used today.

Suzhou City was built early and is large-scale, with water and land running parallel to each other, and adjacent rivers and streets. The ancient city is still located on the original site, which is rare at home and abroad. Suzhou gardens are among the best in the world and have been included in the World Cultural Heritage List. Among the four famous gardens in China, Suzhou occupies the Humble Administrator's Garden and the Liuyuan Garden. The profound cultural accumulation of Tiger Hill, "the number one scenic spot in Wuzhong", makes it It has become a must-visit place for tourists in Suzhou; and the poem "Mooring at Maple Bridge at Night" by the Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ji has made tourists from ancient and modern times rush to visit Maple Bridge and hear the bells of Hanshan Temple.

The natural scenery outside Suzhou City is beautiful. Lingyan, Tianping, Tianchi and Dongting mountains are dotted on the shore of Taihu Lake, forming a lake and mountain scenery rich in Jiangnan style. Suzhou has both the beauty of gardens and the beauty of mountains and rivers. The natural and cultural landscapes complement each other, and the literati and poets chant and chant, making Suzhou a veritable "paradise on earth".

Suzhou gardens are "literati freehand landscape gardens" with profound cultural implications. Ancient gardeners all had a high level of cultural accomplishment and were good at poetry and painting. When designing gardens, they often took paintings as the basis and poetry as the theme. They created poetic landscapes by digging ponds, mountains, and planting flowers and trees. It is called "silent poetry and three-dimensional painting".

Wandering in the garden is like reading poetry or appreciating paintings. In order to express the interests, ideals and pursuits of the garden owner, the garden architecture and landscape also have poems and inscriptions such as plaques and couplets. Some use the quiet fragrance of lotus to describe their character ("Yuanxiang Hall" in the Humble Administrator's Garden). Elegant vanilla is used to describe one's noble character (Humble Administrator's Garden, "Xiangzhou"); some admire the ancients, like boats floating freely and contentedly (Yiyuan, "Huafangzhai"); and others express the garden owner's desire for a tranquil life in the Four Gardens. (Master of the Nets Garden "True Meaning", Liuyuan "Little Taoyuan") and so on.

These bookish poems and inscriptions blend naturally and harmoniously with the buildings, landscapes, flowers and trees in the garden, making every mountain, water, plant and tree in the garden create a profound and profound meaning. Wandering in the artistic conception, you can get spiritual edification and enjoyment of beauty.

Among them, Canglang Pavilion, Lion Grove Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden and Liuyuan Garden respectively represent the Song Dynasty (960~1278 AD), Yuan (1271~1368 AD), Ming (1368~1644 AD), and Qing Dynasty (1644~1911 AD). The artistic styles of the four dynasties in 2001 are known as the "Four Famous Gardens in Suzhou". Venice is a beautiful water city. It is built on the water where it is the most unlikely place to build a city. The style of Venice is always inseparable from "water", with winding water alleys and flowing clear waves. She is like a romantic dream floating on the blue waves, with a poetic and artistic feeling that lingers for a long time. This city once held the most powerful human, material and power in Europe.

It is said that the history of Venice began in AD 453; at that time, farmers and fishermen in Venice fled to this small island in the Adriatic Sea to escape the weapon-loving nomads. Venice looks like a dolphin, with a city area of ??less than 7.8 square kilometers, but it is composed of 118 small islands, with 177 canals densely interspersed like a spider web. These small islands and canals are like a spider web.

3. The beginning of the composition of Oriental Venice Suzhou

My father will take me to Suzhou tomorrow. I am so happy that I can’t sleep tonight.

Tossing and turning on the bed seemed to be making pancakes. The next morning we set off before it was even bright.

Dad told me about Suzhou along the way. Suzhou is located in the Yangtze River Delta plain in the southeastern part of Jiangsu Province, bordering Shanghai to the east, Zhejiang to the south, Taihu Lake to the west, and the Yangtze River to the north.

Its history can be traced back to 6,000 to 7,000 years ago. Speaking of the characteristics of Suzhou city, it can be basically summed up as the "Trinity", namely: ancient city, water town, and garden city. Therefore, it has been known as the "Venice of the East, the most beautiful Jiangnan Garden" since ancient times.

Its main attractions include Canglang Pavilion and Master of Nets Garden in the Song Dynasty, Lion Grove Garden in the Yuan Dynasty, Humble Administrator’s Garden and Liuyuan Garden in the Ming Dynasty, Yiyuan Garden, Couple Garden, Crane Garden and Huan Garden in the Qing Dynasty. Xiu Shan Villa, Tiger Hill, Hanshan Temple, Tianping Mountain, Lingyan Mountain, etc... Just as we are talking, Suzhou has arrived, and our first stop is Tiger Hill. "Qili Mountain Hall to Tiger Hill".

After passing the lively Shantang Street, we came to Haiyong Bridge, the mountain gate of Tiger Hill. As the saying goes: "Mountains are not high, they are famous if there are immortals." The scenic area has a radius of 230 acres, and the highest point is only 34 meters above sea level.

However, there are more than 50 landscapes scattered here, large and small! Entering the mountain gate, the Tiger Hill Tower directly in front of us has come into view, that is the Tiger Tail. The mountain gate we just walked through is the tiger's head, the two ancient wells at the door are the tiger's eyes, the symmetrical eight-character guard wall is the ears, the stone steps facing the Shantang River are the teeth, the screen wall on the other side is the lips, and the broken wall in front is. Liangdian is the throat, and the whole mountain is like the body of a tiger... Stepping onto the mountain road and entering the scenic spot, we visited many fascinating attractions.

This mountain road, which is about tens of meters long, is dotted with places of interest such as Hanhan Spring, Sword Testing Stone, Pillow Thought, Fairy Peach Stone and Zhenniang Tomb, making it dazzling and beautiful. Passing through a round cave gate, we came to the most beautiful place in Tiger Hill - Jianchi.

This place is surrounded by stone walls, giving it a strange and dangerous appearance and a depressing atmosphere. The long and narrow pool is slightly wider in the south and narrower in the north, shaped like a sword. The water in the pool is clear and sweet. It was once called "the fifth spring in the world" in the Tang Dynasty.

In front of the cliff, there are four characters "Feng He Yunquan" carved on the cliff. On the right wall there are two large seal characters "Jianchi", which are said to be the handwriting of the calligrapher Wang Xizhi. Cross the double bridge to the west, then go north via Xuelang Pavilion, and come to the Huqiu Pagoda.

I saw Tiger Hill dominating the center of the pagoda garden. The pagoda body looked a bit old and mottled, but it was still strong, tall and charming. As we all know, there is a world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. The Tiger Hill Tower was built more than 400 years earlier than the Leaning Tower of Pisa, so the Tiger Hill Tower is also called the "Oriental Leaning Tower".

Unknowingly, the day has passed and it’s time for us to go home. In the car, I thought that Tiger Hill not only has the character of a mountain, but also the softness of water.

Finally, I would like to use two ancient poems to evaluate our trip to Tiger Hill today: I have traveled all over the world in my life, but I will never tire of visiting Tiger Hill.

4. After admiring the beautiful scenery of Suzhou, known as the Venice of the East, please grasp the characteristics of Suzhou’s small boats and imitate the text.

The Venice of the East refers to Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province because of its small bridges and flowing water. It has the characteristics of an ancient water town and is known as "Oriental Venice" and "Oriental Water City (Oriental Water City)".

The small boats in the Venice of the East refer to the awning boats. Wu Peng Boat - the flowing life of the water town. Wu Peng boat is a unique means of transportation in Shaoxing, a water town. It is named after its bamboo canopy painted black.

Mr. Lu You 800 years ago said it was "a light boat eight feet tall with three low awnings." The hull of the awning boat is narrow, and the bottom of the boat is covered with wooden boards. Even if there is leakage, the cabin will not get wet.

The deck of the boat is covered with straw mats. You can sit or lie down as you like, but you cannot stand upright. Because the canopy of the boat is low, if you stand upright, there is a risk of losing your balance and capsizing the boat. The power of the awning boat is the paddle.

The rower sits at the back of the boat, with one hand holding the paddle tucked under his arm, and both feet on the end of the oar handle. When his legs stretch and retract, the oar hits the water up and down at a speed of 1 hour. It can reach more than 10 kilometers. The course of the ship is controlled by hand oars. When the ship is moving, the boatman uses both hands and feet.

Sometimes the boatman would hold the hand oar used as the rudder under his arm, leaving his hands free, so that he could hold a bowl of wine and taste it while the boat was moving quickly, with his head covered by a black felt hat. In fact, Shaoxing's awning boats are not the only ones that can row boats. There are also awning boats the size of small boats. The hulls are carved with patterns and patterns, and the bows are carved with animals (a kind of waterfowl) with tiger heads. They seem to be smiling. , quite funny.

Folklore: If you avoid the dragon when you see it, you will be safe while sailing. The hull of this kind of black-topped boat is relatively tall, the canopy is high enough for people to stand upright, and the cabin is wide enough to accommodate tables and chairs for tourists to play cards and have banquets, and the speed is fast.

The boat used by "The True Story of Ah Q" to carry family property from the city to the Zhao Mansion in Weizhuang is this kind of awning boat. One such large ship is called "Mingwa ship".

The Sanming tile is a semicircular awning installed between the two fixed awnings of the ship. The wooden lattice of the three awnings is embedded with pieces of one-inch square oyster shells. , which both protects from rain and transmits light, is called Ming Wa.

When Lu Xun was a child, he took this kind of "big boat with three tiled windows" to Dongguan to see the party.

Lu Xun also mentioned in his writings the "literati's wine boat". This wine boat is commonly known as "Shuo Fei". There are two "stone piers" placed on the bow to press the boat to prevent it from falling during sailing. Head tilt affects speed. Bamboo chairs and benches can be placed in the boat for passengers to sit or lie down.

These large awning boats were mostly used by a small number of officials and wealthy businessmen in the past for visiting, sightseeing, visiting tombs, welcoming relatives, and watching plays. They were somewhat of a competition for extravagance and wealth. Mr. Zhou Zuoren's description of the awning boat is very detailed: the awning is semicircular, made of bamboo pieces, with a bamboo basket in the center, painted with black oil; a sunshade is placed between the two "fixed awnings". It is also semicircular, with a wooden lattice and inlaid with pieces of small fish scales. It is about an inch in diameter. It is quite transparent, slightly like glass but tough and durable. This is called an open tile.

Shaoxing is a water town in the south of the Yangtze River. The water town is naturally a world of boats. The awning boats are either traveling or moored, and they are brisk when traveling and elegant when mooring. The mighty black-topped boat is the spirit of the water town, and it is also the scenery of the water town.

5. Composition "Oriental Water City"

Suzhou, a water city known as the "Venice of the East", is my home. It has a dense water network, a moat inside, and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal outside!

The water in Suzhou has created the aura of the Suzhou people. The Suzhou people have used their hard-working hands to create four famous gardens that are famous both at home and abroad. They are the Humble Administrator’s Garden, the Master of the Nets Garden, the Lion Grove Garden, and the Liuli Garden. garden. The park has lush green trees, white walls and black tiles, and ponds; there are rockeries and peach blossoms beside the ponds, making every visitor reluctant to leave! There are red lotus flowers in the pond, standing gracefully on the water. The green lotus leaves are like a big jade plate, setting off the lotus flowers, making the lotus flowers more beautiful. The small fish are playing among the lotus leaves, which makes me It reminds me of the poem "The fish plays with the lotus leaves to the east, the fish plays with the lotus leaves to the west, the fish plays with the lotus leaves to the south, the fish plays with the lotus leaves to the north."

The Suzhou dialect spoken by Wu Nongruan is the profound accumulation of Suzhou’s more than 2,500 years of history and culture. "Tuk-tuk-tuk, selling sugar porridge, three kilograms of walnuts and four ounces of shells..." "Shake and shake, shake until I reach Grandma Bridge, grandma calls me a good baby..." The beautiful Suzhou nursery rhymes echoed in my ears again. Nowadays, many new Suzhou residents use their spare time to learn our Suzhou dialect!

The clever Suzhou people have created amazing silk quilts and scarves; Caizhizhai’s rice dumplings; Huang Tianyuan’s rice cakes; Ye Shouhe’s sesame cakes; Jingjing brand marinated dried tofu is widely popular Favored by Chinese and foreign tourists... Every time foreign tourists come to Suzhou, they never forget to take a few things back with them!

The water city of Suzhou, paradise on earth, my home!

6. Suzhou is known as the "Venice of the East". How is it different from Venice?

Suzhou and Venice are similar in many places. This may be the reason why the two places have formed sister cities. main reason.

Venice is also a fascinating tourist destination not only in Italy but also in the world. It is a water city and the only city in the world where cars cannot pass.

Water is connected to water, and water to land is connected to a bridge. There are a total of 400 bridges in Venice.

Suzhou is also a famous water city. The more water there is, the more natural bridges there are. I have not found out how many bridges there are in Suzhou, but the streets are almost entirely filled with water lanes of different lengths and widths. As soon as you open the door, there is water, a bridge, and a boat.

Among the many places of interest in Venice, the most noteworthy is Piazza San Marco, known as "the most beautiful square in the world." It is said that after Napoleon occupied Venice in 1797, he coveted the scenery here and ordered the Doge's Palace next to the square to be converted into a palace. People still call it Napoleon Palace.

Suzhou also has many places of interest and historical sites, and is especially famous for its many beautiful gardens. The most famous ones include Canglang Pavilion, Lion Grove Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden and Lingering Garden.

I have only been to the Lion Forest. This is a garden as beautiful as the Grand View Garden in "Dream of Red Mansions".

The garden is full of pavilions, winding corridors, ponds, rockeries, and exotic flowers and plants. I visited here for more than two hours and only visited an approximate area, which shows how big the garden is.

Besides the gardens, the most interesting sights are the historic sites. Hanshan Temple is a tourist attraction worth mentioning.

Hanshan Temple, originally called Miaoli Puming Pagoda Courtyard, was built in the Tianjian period of Emperor Liang of the Southern Dynasties (502-519). According to legend, two monks, Hanshan and Shide, lived here during the Tang Dynasty, so it was renamed Hanshan Temple.

Zhang Ji's poem "Mooring at Night on Maple Bridge" made this place even more famous.

In addition, the Suzhou dialect and the misty rain are also very unforgettable.

Suzhou people speak softly and mellowly, which is particularly pleasant to hear. Women in particular have a strong sense of music when speaking, which is very pleasant to the ear. Rainy days in Suzhou are very charming.

It rains almost every day during the plum rain season, but the rain is not heavy. It rains gently, thinly, and densely, like strands of light threads. When it rains, pedestrians holding umbrellas of various colors walk hurriedly in the drizzle, like a splash-ink "rain map", which evokes your infinite reverie about Jiangnan.

This memory remains in my mind for more than fifty years. Looking back on the scene at that time, it seems that the long bells of Hanshan Temple are still ringing in my ears... Due to its unique geographical location, Suzhou is still a typical "land of plenty".

The rich products not only meet the needs of people's daily life, but also the ancient residential towns, small bridges and flowing water that can be seen everywhere in this "land of plenty" make people feel like "living in a home in a painting, with people" "Wandering in the middle of a painting". Suzhou is also a typical water city, known as the "Venice of the East".

Suzhou is also known as the "Land of Brocade". The silk and brocade produced here have been famous since ancient times. "Su embroidery", which is as famous as silk, is one of the four famous embroideries in China.

They are all unique traditional products of Suzhou and sell well at home and abroad. Suzhou's local traditional culture and art are prosperous and splendid.

The art of Kunqu Opera, known as the "King of 100 Operas", originated in Suzhou. Suzhou Pingtan, which is expressed in speaking, performing, playing and singing, is one of the four major types of music in the country.

Jiangnan silk and bamboo, with its elegant and fresh style and smooth and graceful tunes, is full of Jiangnan color. Wu Ge, which can be recited and sung, is another folk art form with a strong flavor of the local water town in Suzhou.

Suzhou has a wide variety of local traditional products with unique characteristics, and has gradually formed a series of Suzhou local products marked with the word "Su". Such as Suzhou-style dishes, Su-style pastries, Su-style candies, Su embroidery, Su Zhuo, Su fans, etc., which reflect the rich and colorful history of Suzhou culture from another aspect.

Corresponding to the water town style of the ancient city, Suzhou has developed and constructed a modern new urban area. The "real mountain and true water garden city" and the "imitation mountain and water city middle garden" complement each other. The rapid development of Suzhou's economic construction has created better and better tourism conditions and environment for more and more Chinese and foreign tourists.

China's water city is called the "Venice of the East", which is really a great honor for our country. Venice, Italy, today has the characteristics of a water town and exudes infinite charm, attracting at least one million tourists every day.

Water brings wealth and blessings to the Italian people. Venice, a famous water town, sees at least one million tourists every day.

Tourists are like fish, all crowded together on dry embankments or squares. The entire people's livelihood in Venice seems to be designed for tourists from all over the world.

If you want to choose a city that is the most commercialized and profitable in tourism, it has to be Venice. The giant maze fills the entire Venice with water. There are 117 small islands and 150 large and small waterways. If you are not afraid of the hard work of walking up and down, you can also try 400 bridges that are not so accessible in all directions.

Venice is like the biggest maze in the world, but it's filled with water. Maybe some people still don’t know that Venice’s “water” actually saved Venice.

After the collapse of the Roman Empire, the Germanic peoples who invaded Europe continued to invade and pursue in all directions. At that time, many people who escaped from the city-states fled to this outlet and established this "separated by water" "The city survived. A water town is the most suitable place for people to take a rest in a boat to get a glimpse of its true face, whether it is Zhouzhuang in Kunshan, Jiangsu, Xitang, Wuzhen, Nanxun in Zhejiang, or Venice in Italy.

The water town in the south of the Yangtze River is an ink painting, and the water town of Venice in Italy is a rich watercolor painting; the water town in the south of the Yangtze River is exquisite and delicate, and the water town of Venice in Italy is majestic and quiet; if the water town in the south of the Yangtze River is said to rely on the rushing and soft water The sound of the bell on the top of the tower in the Italian water city brings peace to people. Venice is actually an island city in the Adriatic Sea, covering an area of ??only 8.9 square kilometers. Compared with the sea, it can only be regarded as a small place.

In order to save labor and facilitate transportation within the island, many seawater rivers were dug horizontally and vertically. Residents live along the river, and commerce is based on the river. There are many boats, bridges, and water alleys. It is unique in the beauty of water scenery that is vast on the outside and winding on the inside, so it is famous all over the world as a water city. The same: First, they both have a long history and culture.

Second, surrounding the water city played an important role in local economic development. Third, they are both the birthplace of modern commerce and the emergence of capitalism. Fourth, due to the rivers intersecting in the city, they are all called For the water town. Difference: First, the cultural background is different, which is the fundamental difference between Chinese and Western cultures.

Second, the positioning of cities is different.
