Temple Fundraising Proposal

To all the temples and monks and nuns in the region:

Building a harmonious society is the common requirement of the party and the government for all citizens and all walks of life. The majority of monks and nuns are citizens of the country, and temples are an integral part of society. It is natural for us to use our wisdom and strength in the practice of building a harmonious society. In particular, the party and government require us to play the positive role of religion in promoting social harmony, which fully demonstrates that there are many positive factors in religion that are conducive to building a harmonious society that we need to explore and carry forward. The Buddha's way is based on compassion, altruism, abandoning evil, protecting the country from above, and benefiting the people from below, which is consistent with the core concept of building a harmonious society. Temples are places for listening, thinking and practicing Buddhism, and are also places where believers and domestic and foreign tourists gather. The harmonious environment inside and outside the temple is conducive to the harmonious coexistence between temples and society, temples and believers, different temples, and temple interiors. It is conducive to our meditation and practice of Dharma and the promotion of Buddhism. It is conducive to promoting the adaptation of religion and socialist society. It is also important for the comprehensive construction of harmony. A stable Tibet is of great significance.

The Buddhist Association is a bridge between the Party and the government connecting monks, nuns and religious believers. It has the responsibility to guide the wisdom and strength of religious figures and religious believers to build a harmonious Tibet. Therefore, we propose to all temples and monks and nuns in the region to actively participate in the creation of harmonious temples and make unremitting efforts to build the temple into a pure place that loves the country and religion, protects the country and benefits the people, studies classics, and benefits all living beings!

To create a harmonious temple, we must achieve "four persistences", namely: insist on taking politics as the soul. Tibetan Buddhism has a fine tradition of patriotism and love of religion. Patriotic religious figures from various sects have made contributions to promoting the reunification of the motherland. Patriotism and love of religion have become the primary conditions for our religious professionals in the past, present and future. Adhere to learning as "food". Just as food on August 26 cannot solve tomorrow's livelihood, we are persistent in learning, insisting on combining political study with Buddhist scripture study, constantly improving our ability to distinguish right from wrong and religious knowledge, and becoming a veritable patriotic monks and nuns. Insist on discipline as a guarantee. The majority of monks and nuns must abide by national laws and abide by the precepts. They must be good citizens while observing disciplines and laws, and be good monks and nuns while observing the precepts. Keep organization as the key. The key to whether temple work is good or bad lies in the temple management organization. The temple management organization is the organizer of creating harmonious temples. It must mobilize and publicize extensively to give full play to the main role of monks and nuns in creating harmonious temples.

To create a harmonious temple, we must achieve the "seven" goals: First, adhere to the leadership of the Communist Party of China, adhere to the socialist system, adhere to the system of regional ethnic autonomy, clearly oppose separatism, and safeguard the reunification of the motherland. and national unity. Second, the temple management organization is sound, and management systems for personnel, finance, learning, public security, fire protection, cultural relics protection, health and epidemic prevention, etc. have been established and implemented, and the temple consciously accepts the management, supervision, and inspection of government departments. The third is to consciously accept the patriotic education in temples, firmly establish the concepts of motherland, government, legal system and citizen awareness, carry out religious activities within the scope permitted by the constitution, laws and policies, and keep religious activities in order. The fourth is to abide by laws and regulations, strictly abide by religious rules and precepts, study Buddhism with concentration, constantly improve one's own attainments, strive to discover the positive factors in religious teachings that are beneficial to the country, society and the people, and strive to become patriotic and religious, with noble character and profound religious attainments. qualified monks and nuns. Fifth, all kinds of relationships within the temple are harmonious. The temple coexists harmoniously with religious believers, other temples, other religions and sects, people with different beliefs in the same sect, and other social organizations. Sixth, we should actively carry out self-support activities, strive to reduce the burden on religious believers, and actively participate in social welfare undertakings. Seventh, keep the temple solemn, the monk's room neat, hygienic and clean, and the environment quiet and beautiful.

Let us monks and nuns join hands, actively respond to the call of the party and the government, jointly carry out activities to build harmonious temples, and make new contributions to building a socialist harmonious Tibet. Tibetan Branch of the Buddhist Association of China August 23, 2007
