The concept of "freedom, equality and fraternity" comes from the rise of the bourgeoisie in the Renaissance, the Religious Reform and the Enlightenment, which contains the core of a series of western cultures such as humanism, Christian spirit and rationalism. Among them, the main core of "fraternity" comes from the Christian spirit.

Christianity preaches that "God loves the world", so the world should love the world, and all believers in the world are brothers and sisters. Before God, everyone is born of creation. Therefore, in the religious sense, everyone is equal, and loving others is like loving your brothers and sisters. The source of all this is that God created man. Since everyone is God's creation, everyone is the son and daughter of the "Heavenly Father". Love for people comes from God's teaching, not from other factors such as blood relationship.

As mentioned above, Mohism could not find the direction to break the concentric social structure in the blood society, so it turned to seek superhuman strength to prove the rationality of its "universal love", and thus produced the theories of "Heaven will" and "Invisible".

But fundamentally speaking, Mohist's "universal love" does not lie in transcendental power at all, or "Tian Zhi" just puts on a more acceptable coat for his theory.

The fundamental purpose of "loving each other" is "mutual benefit". As mentioned above, Mohism is a collection of people who have left the blood society. Mencius criticized Mozi for saying that "a man's father depends on his father". We know that the greatest guarantee for maintaining an organization is the same interests. In ancient society, blood relatives naturally had the same interests, but Mohism obviously did not have blood power, so it sought it. If we want to understand this bond, we can compare it with the "blood for alliance" of later generations. This bond is more similar to feelings such as loyalty, and it has always maintained a stable alliance relationship from universal love to mutual benefit ~
