Henan released the top ten typical cases of production safety accidents in 2020. Is there anything worth learning from?

On January 28, the Henan Provincial Department of Emergency Management released 10 typical cases of production safety accidents in Henan Province in 2020, and analyzed these cases to warn production companies about safe production.

These 10 cases are:

1. Water penetration accident of Fluxin Mining Co., Ltd., Pingqiao District, Xinyang City

2. Shenghe, Yuanyang County, Xinxiang City Pressure and burial accident at the government construction site

3. Poisoning accident in the rainwater connection project of Rongxiao Road, Xinxiang City

4. Explosion accident at Min'an Blasting Service Co., Ltd., Luanchuan County, Luoyang City

5. Suffocation accident in the drainage reconstruction project of Huanglong Industrial Cluster District, Xiangfu District, Kaifeng City

6. Suffocation accident at Minnong Noodle Products Co., Ltd., Wuzhi County, Jiaozuo City

7 , Ruyi mattress curtain wholesale store disaster in Luyi County, Zhoukou City

8. Liquefied gas leakage accident in Yinji Steamed Bun Store, Baiyang Town, Yiyang County, Luoyang City

9. Provincial highway S235 Road Traffic Accident in Yuzhou Section of Xuchang City

10. Road Traffic Accident in Huaibin County, Xinyang City

These ten cases are typical representatives of production safety accidents throughout 2020.

In terms of traffic accidents, the direct cause of Case 10 was the failure of the car's braking system, the truck speeding, and improper emergency measures during driving.

We must take this as a warning. Logistics and transportation companies must conduct regular driver safety education, conduct regular vehicle inspections, check for parts wear and tear, and keep safety records. Departments responsible for traffic and road surfaces should also regularly inspect vehicle emergency escape ramps to see if they are normal. There should be no blind spots on the road surface, and illegal road occupation should be stopped immediately if found.

In terms of fire accidents, the direct cause of Case 7 was a fire caused by aging electrical circuits in the color steel plate house. The color steel plate was ignited by the fire and produced toxic gases, causing poisoning and suffocation of the people in the house.

From this fire accident, we discovered that the shop owner was suspected of illegal business operations, illegal accommodation in the production and business premises, flammable debris piled up in the shop, and no escape route. The regulatory authorities failed to implement supervision after discovering problems and issuing rectification notices. Fire extinguishing equipment was not in place and was not set up at the prescribed location. These hidden dangers are also common problems in our daily production activities. This fire accident has sounded the alarm for us. The details and key points of safety production must be implemented and inspected regularly.

Case 2 was caused by earth collapse during the excavation process of earthworks at the construction site, resulting in casualties.

Safety accidents at construction sites are the most frequent occurrence of production safety accidents every year. This accident once again tells us that safe and civilized construction on site is not child's play, and if the details are not in place, it will cause personnel and economic losses. A safety production management team must be established at the construction site. Daily publicity, inspections, and regular inspections are all essential. Safety warning signs are hung in place in accordance with regulatory requirements. To put an end to illegal contracting and unlicensed construction, the construction management unit must obtain the construction project construction permit and safety and quality supervision records before construction can begin.
