The Japanese are also very shocked. Isn’t this worth touching? Don't they have any patriotism? Now our patriotism is just two words: "force", so I have to express my thoughts here. I also hope it can bring thoughts to everyone. This is much better than slogans. We are only superficially strong, patriotism has become generalized, and patriotism is passive. First of all, we are patriotic and we must be good Chinese people. What is patriotism? We see spitting everywhere on campus and litter everywhere in the venue. How do you feel when we learn that foreign countries have written warnings specifically for Chinese people? How do you feel when you hear many jokes mocking the bad habits of Chinese people? Just now, my classmate also mentioned Lu Xun. He is indeed great, but if Lu Xun were alive, he would be furious. After so many years, the original thing is still the same. I want to say that it’s not other people’s articles that have vitality, it’s our bad habits that have too much vitality. More than a hundred years ago, a British Sinologist summarized various bad habits of the Chinese people, such as spitting, saving face, dishonesty, fighting among each other, lack of hygiene, etc. Have they changed now? No. If we don’t take action, how can we talk about patriotism? Why wait until the most dangerous moment to sing in the national anthem to become patriotic? We need to be patriotic now. The ancients said: The way of a university lies in the enlightenment of virtue, in the new people, and in the pursuit of perfection. What should college students do? To take decent actions, we must know this. If we are patriotic, we must be a decent pioneer. In general, when talking about patriotism, there must be at least some changes. The shortcomings of the nation a hundred years ago were constant patriotism. We all made fuss about political movements and demanded changes. However, we regret to see that the habits and character of our nation and the cultural spirit of society have not changed much. The rejuvenation of the nation cannot be separated from the rejuvenation of people, and the purpose is also the rejuvenation of the cultural spirit of society. What do we do in peacetime: join in social movements. I don’t want our descendants to still shout patriotism a hundred years from now and continue the vitality of our shortcomings and bad habits.
