What kind of garbage does tea residue belong to?

Tea residue belongs to wet garbage in garbage classification. Tea leaves will be affected by microorganisms in the air and will be corroded if they are left in the air for a long time after brewing, so they should be put into the trash can of wet garbage.

The brewed tea residue can also be reused. Because tea leaves some chemical components and substances beneficial to the body after brewing, it can be reused.

Classification of domestic waste:

1. Recyclable garbage refers to domestic garbage suitable for recycling and resource utilization. The main varieties of recyclables are: waste paper, waste plastic bottles, waste metal, waste packaging materials, waste textiles, waste electrical and electronic products, waste glass, waste paper aluminum-plastic composite packaging and so on.

2. Kitchen waste (called wet waste in Shanghai) includes food waste such as leftovers, bones, roots, leaves and peels. After in-situ treatment of compost by biotechnology, 0.6~0.7 tons of organic fertilizer can be produced per ton.

3. Hazardous wastes include heavy metals, toxic substances harmful to human health or wastes that cause actual or potential harm to the environment. Including batteries, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, mercury thermometers, paint buckets, some household appliances, expired drugs and their containers, expired cosmetics, etc. These wastes are usually recycled or landfilled separately.

4. Other garbage (called dry garbage in Shanghai) includes bricks and tiles, muck, toilet waste paper, paper towels and other wastes that are difficult to recycle, dust, food bags (boxes) and so on. Sanitary landfill can effectively reduce the pollution of groundwater, surface water, soil and air.
