Code of Professional Ethics for Primary and Secondary School Teachers (revised on August 7th, 1997)?

First, teaching according to law. Study and publicize Marxism–Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping's theory of building Socialism with Chinese characteristics, support the Party's basic line, fully implement the national education policy, consciously abide by the teachers' law and other laws and regulations, and be consistent with the principles and policies of the party and the state in education and teaching, and there must be no words or deeds that violate the principles and policies of the party and the state.

Second, love and be dedicated. Love education, love schools, be conscientious, teach and educate people, and pay attention to cultivating students with good ideological and moral character. Carefully prepare lessons for class, carefully correct homework, do not perfunctory, and do not spread ideas that are harmful to students' physical and mental health.

Third, love students. Care for all students, respect their personality and treat them equally and fairly. Be strict with students, teach them patiently, do not satirize, dig at or discriminate against students, do not punish students by corporal punishment or in disguised form, protect their legitimate rights and interests, and promote their all-round, positive and healthy development.
