Shibapan is located 32km northeast of Zoucheng, the hometown of Mencius, 3km east of Tianhuang Village where Tianhuang Town is located, at the junction of Tianhuang Town and Chengqian Town, with Niutou Mountain in the east, Linyi River in the west, hills and Huangshan Mountain in the north and Balibei Reservoir across the Lushan Mountain in the south. Shibapan Forest Farm, located on Shibapan Mountain, is the largest state-owned forest farm in southwest Shandong. Starting from the firewood shop at the foot of the mountain, we climbed a winding and steep path of about 1 km, and we were suddenly enlightened through the dense forest. This is a bamboo garden. There is also a beautiful legend in the bamboo garden: it is said that there was a big official in Shanxia Village during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. He is honest and upright, and has won the love of the people. However, due to his upright character, he offended some powerful people and was framed and excluded by the bad guys. He angrily waved his sleeves, unloaded his armor and returned to the fields, went up the mountain to open up wasteland and farm alone, and lived a leisurely and secluded life. In order to show his integrity, he planted a piece of bamboo on the mountain, which was lush and green, to show his noble feelings of being virtuous and not colluding with the officialdom, hence the name "Bamboo Garden". Being in it makes people pay tribute. Zhuyuan is one of the three major forest protection areas in the forest farm, equipped with fire monitoring system and solar power generation device.

Big T-shape

The highest peak of Shibapan is about 1 km away from Zhuyuan. In the meantime, there is no right path, only a winding path leading to a secluded place, winding through the dense pine forest until it reaches the big top. The nearby mountains are covered with trees, thick and dense, as if they were strong warriors, and like the impenetrable Great Wall of Steel.

Wanshan Ni Chao

On the western top of the 18th Panshan Mountain, you can see the wonders of Wanshan Ni Chao, that is, many hills in Fiona Fang, which are dozens of miles around Nishan Mountain, are facing Nishan Mountain, as if Nishan Mountain were their center and dedicated to Confucius.

A winding road up the hill

Starting from Dashantou Village at the foot of the mountain, we invested more than 400,000 yuan to build Panshan Road, which goes straight to the enclosure. The road spirals up, and the high road enters the clouds, with a length of 2 kilometers. Part of the road section is opened between cliffs, which is difficult to construct and uses a lot of earth and stone. It can be called "Gong Yu Yishan Project", which is to organize the road surface to harden and vehicles can pass through the top of the mountain. Seen from a distance, this road is like a ribbon around mountains, Woods and mountains, like a beautiful mountain necklace.

Lindao

There are more than 650,000 trees on the mountain, mainly Robinia pseudoacacia and pine trees, and the skin of the whole mountain is covered with mountains. Walking in the mountains, there is a smell of virgin forest, quiet and deep, unpredictable. The occasional alarm of big birds and jumping rabbits in the forest always makes people feel thriller, mystery and fear. The mountain wind blew, and the whole mountain whimpered and roared, one after another, as if it were in the stormy waves of the ocean.

After the heavy rain in summer, the mountains and valleys are full of gurgling streams and waterfalls, flowing freely. The running water tinkles or roars, playing a beautiful chord, as if the mountain god were singing. Especially the waterfall on Datang dam in the paddock is unrestrained.

Sunrise fog pine

At the top of the east mountain of the Eighteen Panshan Mountain, you can enjoy the morning sunrise: the reddish sun jumps over the horizon and spurts out. Every time it is foggy, the whole mountain is shrouded in fog and smoke, just like a fairyland. The leaves of pine branches are covered with milky white fog drops, as if it were a beautiful Christmas gift, a bride in a wedding dress.

Yuanbaoshi

The whole boulder covers an area of tens of square meters and lies on the hillside in the shape of an ingot, hence the name.

Yinmachao

The exposed rock part of the boulder covers an area of about mu. It is a huge Hei Hu stone with a trough-shaped pool about meters deep. Whether it is rainy season or continuous drought for several months, it always keeps a pool of clear water, which neither overflows nor dries up. According to legend, in ancient times, a general marched here, stayed in the mountains for several days, and drank horses here, hence the name horse drinking trough. Eighteen plates are built on the bamboo ridge, rolling up and down the mountain, all the way to Fengmen Pass. You can climb along Xianren Bridge, Zhujieling and Shibanpan on foot, or you can go straight to the top of the mountain by bus. About the construction of eighteen plates, there are the following legends:

There is a stone shaped like a carp on the side of Shibapan Road, with its head on the ground and half of its body underground. According to legend, the ancient emperor was afraid of national instability and sent many Yin and Yang divisions to visit and destroy Long Mai. On this day, a man came to Yuntai Mountain, found the carp stone and saw the first gate on this ridge. He knew that as long as carp jumped over the moat, it would become a dragon, be born in its owner's house, and when it grew up, it would seize the emperor's land. Master Yin and Yang found the mountain owner and told him the truth. The mountain owner was very happy and asked how to make carp jump over Tianmen. Master Yin and Yang told him that he could fly to Tianmen conveniently as long as eighteen plates were put next to the carp stone. So the master hired someone to build eighteen plates day and night, and the Yin and Yang division left safely. It turns out that carp can only become dragons by jumping over Tianmen. If it falls on eighteen plates, it can only be a plate on earth, and the feng shui is broken like this.

Eighteen plates, built by 1300 stone steps, are in the shape of nine folds and eighteen bends, meandering between dangerous valleys and precipices, and are one of the main scenic spots in Wangmangxia Scenic Area of Taihang Mountain Grand Canyon.

Eighteen plates were first built in the heyday of the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the tenth year of Qing Emperor Kangxi. They were once one of the traffic arteries in Shanxi and Henan provinces. Because it is remote and the terrain is steep, there is a poem describing this day: "Every time you take a thousand steps, you will stumble, your heart and gallbladder will be broken, and your hair will stand on end." 18 plates have been developed and repaired, and the original appearance has been restored.
