National Day customs

1. Raise the national flag and sing the national anthem. Every National Day, a grand flag-raising ceremony is held in Tiananmen Square in the capital.

2. National Day military parade. The National Day military parade usually has a small celebration on the fifth anniversary and a big celebration on the tenth anniversary. The National Day military parade usually starts at 10 a.m. on October 1 in Tiananmen Square, and the viewing time is approximately 60 minutes.

3. The highway is free on National Day. The period starts at 0:00 on the first day of the holiday (October 1) and ends at 24:00 on the last day of the holiday (October 7).

4. Vacation. The statutory holiday for National Day is three days, October 1st, 2nd and 3rd. In addition to the 3 days of statutory leave, the two weekends before and after will also be taken off for 7 days.

(1). Put up lanterns and streamers

Every National Day holiday in my country, all enterprises and institutions will hang up lanterns or banners with the words "Celebrate National Day" and other slogans to celebrate the National Day; bonsai and balloons with slogans were placed in the square to welcome the National Day with a joyful atmosphere.

October 1st every year is my country’s National Day. In 1999, my country revised and promulgated the “National Festival and Anniversary Holiday Measures”, which included the National Day holiday. The holiday and the adjacent Saturdays and Sundays are combined into a seven-day National Day holiday, which is called the "National Day Golden Week". With the improvement of people’s living standards, private cars have become increasingly popular. People usually use the 7-day National Day holiday to visit the great rivers and mountains of the motherland. . Therefore, since 2012, the country has made highways free of charge for private cars during the National Day. The free passage period during the 2012 National Day holiday is from 00:00 on September 30 to 24:00 on October 7.
