As a finance minister of the Republic of China, what are the characteristics of Wu Bo?
I came to work in the Taxation Department of the Ministry of Finance in 2002. I had never met Comrade Wu Bo, the fifth Minister of Finance of the Republic of China. Fortunately, in 2005, I represented the Ministry of Finance in a "touching" speech contest held by central state agencies, which gave me the opportunity to learn and understand Mr. Wu's ordinary details and noble integrity.
Comrade Wu Bo was the fifth Minister of Finance of the People's Republic of China. When Comrade Li Xiannian was the Minister, Mr. Wu presided over the daily work of the Ministry of Finance for more than 20 years and served as the leader of New China. Finance and taxation undertakings have made significant contributions. Mr. Wu has a high prestige in the Ministry of Finance, and has brought out a new generation of the Ministry of Finance - diligent, honest, practical and meticulous.

During the difficult economic period in 1960, in order to solve the problem of eating vegetables in the canteen, the Ministry of Finance once opened an empty space Plant vegetables on the ground. In order to build a fence, the Administration Department made a budget to invest more than 200 yuan in bamboo fences. After reading it, Mr. Wu gave instructions to recalculate. After recalculating the accounts and finding that the wire mesh saved more than 20 yuan, he approved the budget. Mr. Wu believes that when engaging in finance, one must be diligent and frugal for the people and be a good steward!

Mr. Wu He is very strict with himself and holds a high position, but he is always frugal in life.
No. 20 Dajiangfang Hutong, Xicheng District, Beijing is an extremely ordinary courtyard house. Mr. Wu lived in this courtyard assigned to him by the state in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China for more than 40 years. It wasn't until 1993 that the staff tricked him into staying out for two days before repainting the house. After Mr. Wu suffered from senile Parkinson's syndrome, his hands kept shaking. Sometimes when eating, the rice would fall on the floor or on the table, and he would always pick it up one by one with trembling hands and eat it.
In dealing with others, Mr. Wu was always magnanimous and lofty.
During the Cultural Revolution, a subordinate who had followed Mr. Wu for many years mistakenly posted big-character posters for Mr. Wu during the Cultural Revolution. After the Cultural Revolution, this comrade felt very guilty. One Spring Festival, he came to Wu's home and started crying as soon as he entered the door. After listening to what he said, Mr. Wu said calmly, "I don't remember what you said. I am old and can't remember many things."
Mr. Wu is very strict with his family. He never allowed them to do anything special, and he never allowed others to use his name to seek personal gain for his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Wu’s wife suffers from severe rheumatism in her legs and feet, and she has to take a bus or taxi to see a doctor. In Mr. Wu's opinion, the bus can only be used for business purposes and should never be used for personal matters.
Several of Mr. Wu’s sons have gone to work at the grassroots level. The eldest son went to Zhouqu County in northwest Gansu Province, the second son went to the south, and the fourth son went to Beidahuang. Now, Mr. Wu’s eldest son is already over 70 years old and has children and grandchildren. However, the whole family still lives in Gansu and is still working diligently for the Great Northwest! I have made ten contributions to Mr. Wu. Xiao Yang, who has been a secretary for many years, told us that in Mr. Wu’s heart there is only the public and others, but not himself!
On the day after Mr. Wu passed away, according to the old man’s last wish, The family members handed over his body to the hospital for pathological examination. After Mr. Wu passed away, he left less than 30,000 yuan in savings. Excluding funeral expenses, there was almost nothing left. All he left for his children were several large cabinets of books. Even the house he lived in during his lifetime belonged to him according to the policy and could be left to his descendants, but Mr. Wu still asked his family to return it to the state!
After learning about this matter, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance instructed that this should be vigorously publicized kind of spirit. At the 2009 Ministry of Finance Youth League Meeting, Vice Minister Liao Xiaojun proposed that we should inherit and carry forward the fine traditional styles formed by veteran finance people and the financial system over a long period of time. In the spring of 2010, the Party Committee and Youth League Committee of the agency issued a call and deployment for carrying out educational activities with the theme of passing on the torch. As a young financial cadre, I am deeply moved by the spirit of Mr. Wu and other older generation leading cadres. While I feel respectful, I am also thinking about how, in today's era, we young financial people can learn to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Mr. Wu and other older generation of financial people.
I think that this kind of inheritance and development does not lie in specific things and forms! It lies in how to keep pace with the times and grasp the eternal value of their spirit! The spirit of the older generation is concentrated in the wholeheartedness Dedicated to the cause of the party and the country, the rejuvenation of the nation, and the happiness of the people! In contemporary China, this spirit is the main theme of financial work in building a harmonious society, and it is the essential requirement for financial work to implement the Scientific Outlook on Development. For our young financial cadres personally, Mr. Wu has strengthened his belief in communism in life, and has practiced it throughout his life, and it has remained unchanged throughout his life: the war is raging, but it has not changed; the political situation has not changed; and the living conditions have improved, and it has not changed. ! "Those who achieved great things in ancient times must have perseverance!" Isn't the older generation's unswerving belief in life the coordinates of the contemporary young people who are determined to succeed on the way forward in life?
