Is Daxiantong Temple in Wutai Mountain fun?

Wutai Mountain, located in Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. Daxiantong Temple is one of the famous scenic spots in Wutai Mountain. It is the largest and oldest temple in Wutai Mountain. I think it is very interesting and worth visiting.

Daxiantong Temple is the largest and best preserved temple in Wutai Mountain. There are more than 400 houses, large and small, with complete layout and a long history. Most of them were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are seven halls in the temple, including Guanyin Hall, Manjusri Hall, Daxiong Hall and Infinite Hall. Because Wutai Mountain is the Dojo of Manjusri Bodhisattva, all the temples in it are dedicated to Manjusri Bodhisattva. Therefore, pilgrims from all over the country will go to Wutai Mountain to pray for their children on the occasion of the senior high school entrance examination and college entrance examination every year.

Since ancient times, Xiantong Temple has been the most visited temple in Wutai Mountain. In addition to a long history and strong desire, there is a more important reason that there are many treasures left over from history in the temple. The most representative is the Dragon and Tiger Monuments on both sides outside the gate of Xiantong Temple. These two stone tablets have been handed down from the Tang Dynasty to the present, and they are very precious. In addition, there are cultural relics of various historical dynasties in the Tibetan Scripture Building. The most precious and worth seeing cultural relics in Xiantong Temple are Manjusri bronze statue, bronze temple and bronze tower. Thousands of bowls of Manjusri bronze statues are enshrined in Manjusri Hall. It has a special shape with five heads on it and six hands on its chest. Among them, two hands hold a golden bowl, and Buddha Sakyamuni sits in it. Such a strange bronze statue is very rare in history.

The copper temple and the copper tower were built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, and it took100000 Jin of copper to cast them. In fact, there were three bronze temples in the Ming Dynasty, one in Emei Mountain, one in Nanjing Baohua Mountain and one in Wutai Mountain. But after so many years of historical changes, only Wutai Mountain remains, so it is very precious.

Xiantong Temple is the first Buddhist temple established in Wutai Mountain. It has witnessed the continuous development and changes of Buddhist culture in China, and has high historical, scientific and research value. Visitors who like Buddhist culture may wish to visit it, and they will be glad to see you.
