Historical and Cultural Tour
Zhang'an Ancient County: Huipu County was established in the second year of Emperor Zhao of Xijiang. It has a history of more than 2,000 years. It is the birthplace of Taizhou and has been the southeastern part of Zhejiang Province since the Three Kingdoms. political, economic and cultural center. Zhang'an Port is the departure point for Taiwan's first voyage and is the most important seaport at the mouth of Taizhou Bay. It has played an important role in the development of Zhang'an into the largest salt transshipment center in Taizhou. Zhang'an Ancient Street was built in the Qing Dynasty. It is full of shops and workshops. Many time-honored shops with whitewashed terraces are witnesses of Zhang'an's glorious history. There are the unique century-old drug store "Fang Wansheng" in Taizhou, the famous store "Fang Dingsheng" in the north and south, as well as relatively well-preserved old government offices, ancestral halls, archways, ancient wooden houses, old houses and other ancient buildings with a long history. Walking through the street, the weathered stone road under our feet, the weathered bridge deck of Zhang'an Bridge and the incomplete stone steps on both sides of the bridge seem to tell us its rich historical and cultural connotations; the Huipu water under the bridge is still flowing. The ground flows, reflecting Zhang'an, the oldest historical county in southeastern Zhejiang. (There is no need to visit. The government does not pay attention to it at all and does not protect it. In recent years, it has been dilapidated due to fires and many man-made vandals. Where is the ancient charm of the old street, only the twilight is seen.)
Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall : Located at the southwest foot of Dongshan Mountain in Jiaojiang City, it was originally the Haimen City God's Temple and Qigong Temple. It was built in the Ming Dynasty and the current building was rebuilt in the late Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of ??2010 square meters and has a display area of ??640 square meters. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Zhejiang Province. Qi Jiguang (1528-1587), courtesy name Yuanjing and nickname Nantang, was a native of Penglai, Shandong. Born as a general, he studied and practiced martial arts since he was a child. At the age of seventeen, he was appointed as the commander of the Dengzhou Guard. He was once responsible for the defense of Japanese pirates at sea in Shandong, and was later transferred to Tai (zhou), Jin (hua), and Yan (zhou), Zhejiang, to be a staff general and stationed at Haimen Guards. During his four years in Taizhou, he fought in various parts of Taizhou and fought in Taozhu, Haimen, Xinhe, and Taiping battles. He won nine battles and nine victories, and greatly destroyed the Japanese pirates. In another four years, after pacifying the Japanese pirates in Fujian and Guangdong, they won the victory in the Anti-Japanese War and eliminated the Japanese troubles that had lasted for more than 200 years. In order to commemorate Qi Jiguang's anti-Japanese achievements, the people of Haimen built the Qi Gong Temple in the Qi Family Army Garrison in the City God Temple in the Ming Dynasty to worship it forever. After liberation, the party and the people's government attached great importance to the protection of cultural relics and historic sites, and allocated special funds for repairs many times. In January 1987, the Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall was restored and opened.
