By the end of next year, all five harmless treatment projects in Xi'an will be put into operation, with a daily processing capacity of 12,750 tons, which can fully meet the current demand for waste treatment in Xi'an.

Xi'an proposes to achieve comprehensive coverage of urban waste classification in 2019. On September 1, Xi'an's domestic waste is divided into four categories: recyclable waste, hazardous waste, kitchen waste and other waste. If an organization or individual violates the regulations and disposes of domestic garbage at will, the individual will be fined not less than 100 yuan but not more than 200 yuan, and the unit will be fined 5,000 yuan to 20,000 yuan, and the bad information will be included in the personal credit system. This means that Xi'an's garbage classification has entered a "mandatory era."
