Why should tires be vulcanized?

The internal microstructure of tire before vulcanization is linear polymer, which is a kind of viscoelastic plastic rubber, easy to deform, low in strength and useless.

Through vulcanization, linear polymers in plastic rubber cross-link to form reticular polymer materials, which are cured macroscopically and become highly elastic rubber with use value.
