It starts in Matsushita Town, Changle District, Fujian Province, passes through Rendao, Changyu Island, Xiaolian Island and Da Lian Island, and successively passes through Justin Waterway, Guyumen Waterway, Daxiaolian Waterway and Beidongkou Waterway, and reaches Shangpingtan Island in Suao Town. The length of the whole line is 16.34 km, with a total investment of about1200 million yuan, which requires 300,000 tons of steel and 26,000 tons of steel. These materials can be used to build eight Burj Khalifa. Pingtan Strait Highway-Rail Bridge is called "Super Bridge".

Pingtan Strait Highway-Railway Bridge is divided into two floors, which are used by both roads and railways. The upper layer is a six-lane expressway with a speed of about 100km/h, and the lower layer is a double-track railway with a design speed of 200 km/h. The project consists of three channel bridges, approach bridges and railway subgrade.

On June 20 19, the main bridge of Justin Strait Bridge, a highway-rail bridge in Pingtan Strait, was officially closed. September 20 19, Pingtan Strait Road-Rail Bridge was fully opened to traffic. It is estimated that the railway section of Pingtan Strait Highway-Railway Bridge will be opened to traffic by the end of 2020. This bridge is the first cross-sea road-rail bridge in China and the longest cross-sea road-rail bridge in the world.
