Windows XP users retrieve lost input symbols.

If you are a Windows XP user and find that the input method icon suddenly disappears, but you can't find the "input method" in the control panel, don't worry! Here are some tips to help you get it back quickly.

Check whether the taskbar language bar is displayed.

Right-click the taskbar and select the toolbar to see if the language bar is selected. If not, just click to select it, and the input method icon should appear!

Adjust the control panel settings.

Open "Start → Settings → Control Panel", find "Date, Time, Language and Regional Settings", click to enter and select "Language and Regional Settings". Then click the Language tab, and then click the Details button. In the "Text Service and Input Language" dialog box, remove the tick before "Close Advanced Text Service", and finally click "OK". The input method icon is back!

Here we go, Ctfmon.exe.

Click "Start → Run" in turn, enter "msconfig", and run "System Configuration Utility" after confirmation. Find and select Ctfmon.exe in the Start option, and finally click OK or log off or restart. This is because Ctfmon.exe is very important to the normal operation of the input method. Without it, the input method icon will not be displayed.

Use shortcut keys to operate input methods

Even without the input method icon, you can still use shortcut keys to operate the input method! Ctrl+Space can easily switch between Chinese and English input methods, while Ctrl+Shift allows you to try all the input methods installed in the system one by one.
