(1) The Boxers put forward the slogan "Support the Qing Dynasty and destroy the foreign countries". In their thoughts and actions, they always put the destruction of the foreign countries first, which reflected the changes in the main contradiction of Chinese society at that time, that is, imperialism The contradiction with the Chinese nation has become the most important contradiction in Chinese society. It is of a patriotic nature and has an inspiring and mobilizing effect on the anti-imperialist and patriotic struggle of the Boxers and the broad masses. However, this slogan was not put forward by the Boxers after scientific analysis of the main contradictions in Chinese society. It is the product of the peasant class's understanding of Chinese and foreign reactionary forces which is still at the perceptual stage.

(2) The slogan "Support the Qing Dynasty and destroy the foreign countries" inherits the simple understanding gradually formed by the people in the anti-church struggle, and also reflects the inability of the vast number of small producers who do not represent the new productive forces to break through imperialism.
