Olympic English speech

I participated in the Green Olympics (in Chinese and English)

I am a part of the Green Olympics.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Good morning!

Today, my speech is "I am a part of the Green Olympics".

"Green Olympics" is one of the three major themes of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Therefore, the Beijing government has made great efforts to protect the environment, build more "green projects", maintain ecological balance, promote circular economy and protect water resources. However, it is not enough if only the government takes action to realize the 2008 Green Olympics. As a middle school student in Beijing, we should play an active role in realizing the green Olympics. So we should start with ourselves, family, friends and people around us.

In 200 1 year, at the World Trade Center in Moscow, Samaranch, then former president of the International Olympic Committee, once said, "China, Beijing!" As a Beijinger and a China resident, I am sincerely happy for my city and my motherland! But after the excitement of Beijing winning the right to host the 2008 Olympic Games. I began to worry about dusty air, sandstorms, polluted rivers and lakes; There are no green streets and whether we can successfully host the 2008 Olympic Games.

Today, four years later, we can see the blue sky for 229 days in a year, and we can hardly see sandstorms. Flocks of wild ducks return to Shichahai Lake in spring, and all the streets are dressed in green. All these make me firmly believe that Beijing will be successful in 2008! All these achievements are not only the achievements of the Beijing government, but also the achievements of140,000 Beijing citizens. As a member of140,000 ordinary citizens, I am also making my own contribution to our green Olympics!

I used to have a habit of taking a long bath twice a day. This is a great waste of water. One day, I read a news about the water shortage in Beijing in Beijing Daily. It is said that Beijing consumes about 3.7 billion cubic meters of water every year. However, Miyun Reservoir only has 770 million cubic meters of water, and Guanting Reservoir only has 654.38+0.9 billion cubic meters of water. This shows that we are really short of water now! After watching this news, I began to change my habit, taking only one shower every day. I have calculated that if everyone saves one cubic meter of water when taking a bath within one month; Beijing citizens will save water140,000 cubic meters in just one month! In 2004, Beijing Irrigation Apartment reported that since 200 1 year, Beijing has successfully applied for hosting the 2008 Olympic Games. The Beijing government has launched 26 projects to save water resources. After three years' efforts, these projects have saved 437 million cubic meters of water. It is as big as four Huairou reservoirs. Now, in my daily life, in my family, no matter what we do, we always want to protect the environment and save resources. Batteries, old newspapers, empty glass bottles and all recyclable garbage, we classify them and put them in different trash cans; We make full use of natural light and turn off the lights conveniently; When we go shopping, we will bring a nylon bag instead of a plastic bag; During the festival, in order to protect forest resources, I don't send any greeting cards; After washing clothes, we will not throw away the used water, but use it to flush the toilet ... In short, we should start from every little thing around us and truly realize the "green Olympics".

I still clearly remember that in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, when Liu Xiang got on the podium, he wore a crown made of olive branches. Does this green olive branch represent "Green Olympics"? The olive branch is a symbol of peace, and the Olympic Games is the carrier of "peace". We should not simply think that "no war is the meaning of peace". "Harmony between nature and human beings" is also the fundamental meaning of "peace". "Saving resources and protecting the environment", the pursuit of "harmony between nature and human beings", is the way to embody the core of the Olympic spirit. Therefore, we say that peace is the spirit of the Olympics, and the Olympics is the carrier of peace, and "green Olympics" means that we stand on a higher platform to seek peace.

Therefore, the "Green Olympics" should start from every little thing in our daily life, from me and from the people around me. Express the Olympic spirit and publicize the theme of "Green Olympics" so that Beijing can truly realize the "Green Olympics" in 2008. This is the responsibility of anyone who loves peace. This is also the responsibility of our senior high school students in Beijing!

Thank you!

In Beijing on September 65438, 2005.

I will take part in the Green Olympics.

Dear judges, ladies and gentlemen,

Hello everyone! The topic of my speech today is "I will participate in the Green Olympics".

Green Olympics is one of the three concepts of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. To this end, the Beijing Municipal Government has done a lot of work in environmental management, greening construction, ecological protection, circular economy and water resources protection and utilization. However, it is not enough to realize the "green Olympics" only by government actions. As middle school students in Beijing, they should actively participate in the construction and publicity of "Green Olympics". Starting from me, starting from my family, starting from my friends and classmates.

In 200 1 year, when the current IOC President Samaranch read out "China Beijing" loudly in Moscow, as a Beijinger and a China, I was sincerely happy for our motherland and capital. However, when I am happy, the gray sky, sandstorms, dirty moats and lack of green streets make me deeply worried about whether Beijing can successfully host the 2008 Olympic Games.

Today, four years later, there are 229 days of blue sky in a year, and the rolling yellow dust has long since disappeared. Groups of long-lost wild ducks also flew back to Shichahai in Beijing in spring, and the streets were also decorated with green. All these subtle changes are answering me. Beijing will definitely host the 2008 Olympic Games! All these changes are not only the efforts of the Beijing municipal government, but also the results of the efforts of countless Beijing citizens under the leadership of the government. As a member of10 million ordinary Beijing citizens, I am also contributing to our green Olympics.

I used to have a habit of taking a bath twice every morning and evening, which took a long time and was a waste of water. One day, I read an article in Beijing Daily about the shortage of water resources in Beijing, saying that the annual water consumption in Beijing is about 3.7 billion cubic meters, while the storage capacity of Miyun Reservoir is only 770 million cubic meters, and that of Guanting Reservoir is only 654.38+0.9 billion cubic meters. The contradiction between supply and demand of water resources is very acute. After reading this report, I began to change my habits. I only take a bath once a day and try to finish it in a short time. I calculated an account, each person taking a bath every month will save one ton of water, and Beijing140,000 population will save140,000 tons of water. According to the statistics of Beijing Water Conservancy Bureau in 2003, after the successful Olympic bid in 20001year, the municipal government began to implement 26 water-saving measures, saving 437 million cubic meters of water in three years, equivalent to four Huairou reservoirs. Now, in my life, in my family, environmental protection and economic thoughts and behaviors are often reflected. Recyclable materials such as batteries, newspapers, glass bottles and oil jugs are treated and stored separately. Nylon bags are used for shopping and grocery shopping, and plastic bags are basically not used; Laundry water is reused to flush toilets ... It is from these small things that we should start to realize a green Olympics. Aiai English learning website

We clearly remember that in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, when Liu Xiang boarded the podium, he wore a hairband made of olive branches. Doesn't this green olive branch just represent the "green Olympics"? The olive branch symbolizes peace, and the Olympic Games is the carrier of "peace". We can't simply understand that "no war is peace". "Harmony between man and nature" is also the most essential meaning of "harmony". The concrete behavior of "saving resources and protecting the environment" in pursuit of "harmony between man and nature" is the concrete embodiment of the Olympic spirit. Therefore, we say: peace is the soul of the Olympic Games, the Olympic Games is the carrier of peace, and green Olympics is our pursuit of peace from a higher level. When the great spirit is widely embodied by the "ordinary", this spirit will be carried forward and broadened.

It seems that the "Green Olympics" should start from scratch, from me and from the people around me. Carry forward the Olympic spirit and publicize the concept of green Olympics, so that the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will truly become a "green Olympics". This is the unshirkable responsibility of everyone who loves and pursues peace. It is also an ideological realm and pursuit of our middle school students in Beijing.

My speech is over, thank you!

What can I do for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games?

I will be sixteen when the 2008 Olympic Games are held in Beijing. I have many dreams. I want to be a translator and work for foreign athletes. I want to be a tour guide and show Beijing to foreign tourists. I also want to be an athlete and win glory for China. I want to be ...

But as a pupil, what can I do for it now? First of all, I should make Beijing's environment develop better. I can save water, electricity and paper, put garbage in different categories and actively spread environmental protection knowledge. Second, I should improve my morality, safeguard the honor of the country and care for public facilities. Third, I should study hard at my lessons, especially English. Fourth, I should exercise every day to improve my health.

I am proud of a China person. I hope my country is stronger. I am looking forward to 2008, and I will say loudly to the world: Welcome to Beijing.
