What is bim technology?

The English full name of BIM is building information modeling, and the Chinese translation of BIM is: building information modeling.

As the unified standard for the application of building information model in China is still in the preparatory stage, the definition of BIM in American National BIM Standard (NBIMS) is quoted here temporarily, which consists of three parts:

1.BIM is a digital expression of the physical and functional characteristics of a facility (construction project);

2.BIM is a knowledge resource shared by * *, and it is a process of sharing information about this facility in the whole life cycle from construction to demolition, providing a reliable basis for all decisions;

3. At different stages of the project, different stakeholders insert, extract, update and modify information in BIM to support and reflect the collaborative work of their respective responsibilities.

The storage of building information data in BIM is mainly based on various digital technologies, so this digital information model is the basis of various building projects to carry out various related work [1].

Building information model is not a simple integration of digital information, but an application of digital information, which can be used as a digital method of design, construction and management. This method supports the integrated management environment of construction engineering, which can significantly improve the efficiency of the whole process of construction engineering and greatly reduce the risk.

In the whole life cycle of a construction project, the building information model can realize integrated management, so the model includes both the building information model and the management behavior model of the construction project. The information model of architecture is perfectly combined with the management behavior model of construction projects. Therefore, in a certain range, the building information model can simulate the actual building behavior, such as the sunshine of the building, the heat transfer state of the outer envelope and so on.

At present, the construction industry has entered the stage of introduction and popularization of computer-aided technology, such as the introduction of CAD, which has solved the problem of computer-aided drawing. Moreover, this introduction has been strongly welcomed by people in the construction industry and has well adapted to the needs of the construction market. Designers no longer use manual drawing, and at the same time solve the shortcomings of manual drawing and modification. In "cross drawing", it is no longer necessary to use backward overlapping cross drawing of sulfuric acid drawings of various professions. These CAD graphics can be used in various industries.
