In March 1968, the three production brigades of Longfeng Commune in Anda County were placed under the jurisdiction of Anda City and belonged to Longfeng Town. On July 2, 1974, the Provincial Revolutionary Committee approved the restoration of Longfeng District and attached it to Anda City. In December 1979, Anda City was renamed Daqing City and came under the jurisdiction of Daqing City.

It is located in the eastern part of the city, bordering Anda City to the east and north, Sartu District to the west, and Honggang District to the south.
