What does the double drop include?

The contents of double reduction specifically include:

1. Reduce the burden: strengthen the curriculum reform, adjust the curriculum, and reduce the academic burden of students. All kinds of schools at all levels are required to combine the characteristics of students' age and physical and mental development, reasonably arrange course content and learning tasks, and advocate quality education and comprehensive quality evaluation.

2. Reduce exams: limit the number and scope of exams, reduce unnecessary exams, and encourage schools to adopt multiple evaluation methods to comprehensively evaluate students' comprehensive ability and quality development.

Prolonging students' school time: The opinion of "double reduction" requires improving the after-school service level of the school to meet the diversified needs of students. Guide students to voluntarily participate in after-school services. In principle, the end time of after-school service shall not be earlier than the local normal off-duty time. For students with special needs, schools should provide delayed custody services.

Standardize school education and teaching behavior: The "Double Reduction Opinions" requires that the education department should guide schools to improve teaching management regulations, optimize teaching methods, strengthen teaching management, and improve students' learning efficiency at school.

Standardizing extracurricular training institutions: The "Double Reduction Opinions" proposes to adhere to strict institutional examination and approval, standardize training service behavior, strengthen normal operation supervision, and do a good job in training advertisement control. Efforts will be made to effectively reduce students' excessive workload, off-campus training burden, family education expenditure and parents' corresponding energy burden within 1 year, and obvious results will be achieved within 3 years.

Double the implementation time and changes.

On July 24th, 2002/KLOC-0, the General Office of the Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued Opinions on Further Reducing the Students' Homework Burden and Off-campus Training Burden in Compulsory Education. All localities and departments are requested to conscientiously implement it in light of the actual situation. In August of the same year, the Office of the State Council Education Steering Committee issued a special notice to inform the progress of the implementation of the "double reduction" work in each province every two months.

On July 24th, 2023, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the implementation of "Double Reduction" by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the national comprehensive platform for off-campus education and training supervision and service was officially launched.
