Working Boys League

This was the earliest revolutionary children's organization in our country and played a huge role during this period. Children participated in the revolutionary struggle and were mainly engaged in activities such as posting revolutionary slogans, distributing leaflets, and selling revolutionary newspapers on the streets.

The Communist Children’s League

During the ten years from 1927 to 1937, revolutionary children’s organizations—the Communist Party of China—were successively established in Ruijin, Jiangxi, and in some revolutionary base areas. Under the leadership of the party, children and young people have carried out activities to fight local tyrants and promote revolutionary principles, becoming a very influential children's league organization. Anti-Japanese Children's League After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, under the guidance of the party organization in the base area, in order to cooperate with the guerrilla war, the Anti-Japanese Children's League was organized in the base area. The children stood guard for the Eighth Route Army, sent intelligence, and protected traffic personnel, making outstanding contributions to the anti-Japanese war.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Party Central Committee attached great importance to the study and life of children and held a special meeting on October 13, 1949. It was decided to establish a Chinese children's team across the country. In June 1953, it was renamed China Young Pioneers. The name of this organization has been used to this day for 50 years. The Young Pioneers organization plays an important role in uniting and educating young children in our country's socialist revolution and construction, so that they can improve morally, intellectually, physically, aesthetically, and educationally.

Not long after the birth of New China, on October 13, 1949, the Communist Party of China entrusted the Communist Youth League to establish a national unified children's organization-the Chinese Children's Team. In June 1953, it was changed to the Chinese Young Pioneers, referred to as the Young Pioneers. The Young Pioneers inherited the fine tradition of the children's corps during the Revolutionary War. Like the children's corps in the past, they used the red scarf as their symbol. The red scarf is the corner of the red flag, symbolizing the victory of the revolution. The Young Pioneers salute is to put the five fingers together and raise them above the head, indicating that the interests of the people are above all else. The call sign is: Always be ready to fight for the cause of communism. The stars and torches burn on the team flag, guiding the young pioneers to move toward a bright and future under the leadership of the party.
