The Development Course of Nanjing Artillery Academy of China People's Liberation Army

Formerly known as East China Field Army Special School, the College was formally established in Yishui County, Shandong Province on March 1947. 1949, 19 in may, the special school was stationed in the former site of Nanjing Tangshan Kuomintang artillery school. In the course of 60 years' development, the college moved eight times and changed its name eight times. 1950, the special school was renamed the third artillery school. 1977 changed its name to the first ground artillery school and began to run formal higher education. 1July, 986, it was named Nanjing Artillery Academy by the Central Military Commission. 1999, the College merged with the former Hefei Artillery College to form the China People's Liberation Army Artillery College and Nanjing Branch, which undertook the historical mission of training graduate students, platoon leaders of artillery companies and urgently needed personnel for emergency artillery. Nanjing Artillery College is an institution of higher learning that trains artillery commanding officers. The college covers an area of nearly 2000 mu and has more than 250 professional classrooms and laboratories. The college has a complete basic course laboratory, professional room, library, standard stadium, swimming pool and other teaching and living facilities, as well as modern facilities such as closed-circuit television, computers and simulators. She is famous for her long history, rigorous scholarship and beautiful environment. Located in Tangshan Hot Spring Resort, Nanjing, it is known as "Tangshan Gun School" in history.
