So it was convenient for Wang Mang to proclaim himself emperor in the eighth year of AD and change his country name to a new one.

In order to consolidate his dominant position, Wang Mang criticized the royal descendants one by one and sent troops to suppress the peasant rebels. Liu Xiu and his brother took the opportunity to rise and went to Guituo Mountain to destroy Long Mai's follwed. Therefore, Wang Mang hated Liu Xiu, personally led the troops to pursue for a long distance, and chased him to the southern end of Taihang Mountain, which is today's Wangmang Ridge, and interpreted a story of Wang Mang driving Liu Xiu away. Since then, people have renamed Guibei Mountain Wangmang Ridge, leaving behind Liu Xiucheng and other ancient battlefield sites and many beautiful legends.
