How to write an apology letter from a debtor

Dear Mr. xx:

Today, I wrote this letter of apology to my creditor with great guilt, remorse and a heavy heart. It is only right to pay back the debt. What's more, the creditor only lent him the money because he believed in him. However, I have a family and children. I should have paid back the money to my creditor on x, month x, but my career is not doing well. This is because there is a lot of money needed at home at the end of the year. I hope my creditor can give me a few days of grace. All the money will be paid back before x day of x month. I hope this matter will not affect our relationship and trust. I firmly believe that this is the first and last time I have broken trust with others.
