American car accident research

The study of car accidents in the United States is eight times higher than that of driving and talking on the phone.

Many people are multitasking while driving, eating while driving, looking for mobile phones or texting, and so on. If they are not careful, it is easy to cause accidents. A study in the United States quantitatively analyzed the risk of car accidents caused by different distractions when driving for the first time.

The United States is a country with relatively simple overall road conditions, but this study shows that even experienced American drivers may cause at least twice the risk of car accidents by talking on the phone while driving. For novice drivers, distracted driving is more dangerous. Research shows that talking on the phone while driving will increase your risk of car accident by more than 8 times, while looking for mobile phones or other things will increase your risk of car accident by 7 to 8 times, texting will increase your risk of car accident by about 4 times, and eating will also increase your risk of car accident by 3 times. The results were published in the February 2nd issue of the New England Journal of Medicine. Researchers from the National Institutes of Health and Virginia Tech said that they studied 109 drivers with about 20 years of driving experience and 42 novice drivers who just got their driver's licenses for two weeks. They use car cameras and other monitoring devices that do not hinder driving. It turns out that American drivers are distracted to do other things 10% of the time while driving.
