Different from the expected publicity, some reporters found that the merchants participating in the pilot were quite low-key in displaying the signs and tips of digital RMB red envelopes. Merchants and shopping malls participating in the red envelope pilot did not set up posters at the door, but placed small signs at the checkout counter or posted digital RMB stickers at the checkout counter.
