Why did Guanyin Bodhisattva in The Journey to the West recommend Erlang God to surrender to the Monkey King?

We often read martial arts novels, and there is a misunderstanding that those martial arts experts are simply too powerful. In fact, the really powerful master still took refuge in the court. In other words, those martial arts champions in the Jianghu can only tinker, but they can't beat the ouchi master at all. This principle also applies to Journey to the West. Many friends think that the havoc in the Monkey King is still very powerful. In fact, this is not true at all. Although the Monkey King later boasted to other monsters on the way to learn the scriptures, he once made a scene in the Heavenly Palace, and 65,438+10,000 heavenly soldiers could not beat him.

In the original Journey to the West, the Monkey King was not the only one who made trouble in the Heavenly Palace, but also the green lion essence. He swallowed a hundred thousand soldiers with his big mouth. So from this perspective, the only record that the Monkey King can boast about is not a big deal.

Was it really that bad when the Monkey King made a scene in Heaven? You carefully compare the original, it's really not! He didn't scare the jade emperor into getting under the table at all. The powerful immortals in heaven have surrounded the Monkey King, so they didn't give him a chance to play in Jubao Hall.

In the seventh Journey to the West, it is written that Wukong was put into the gossip furnace by the old gentleman, practiced for 7749 days, and pushed down the gossip furnace and came out. This time, the Monkey King directly called outside the Lingxiao Hall, and was stopped by Wang Lingguan, a subordinate of Yousheng Zhenjun. The two men had a fight, and it was a tie. Think about it. There's one of Yousheng Zhenjun's men who can paint with the Monkey King.

Then, with the blessing of the sages, 36 thunder generals came again and surrounded the Monkey King. At this time, the Jade Emperor unhurriedly sent someone to the Western Heaven to ask the Tathagata to surrender the demon monkey.

Tathagata was giving a lecture at that time, and after receiving the imperial edict from the Jade Emperor, he said a word to all the bodhisattvas: Sit here in court, rest in disorder, and wait for me to practice my magic power and come and save me. Obviously, the Tathagata went to save the driver. Even if the Tathagata is a Buddhist leader, he still obeys the orders of the Jade Emperor. After all, the Jade Emperor is the Lord of the Three Realms!

Having said that, it's not difficult to subdue the Monkey King. So why did Guanyin Bodhisattva recommend Erlang God to play Monkey King before? Erlang God and the Monkey King fought, and although they gained the upper hand, they only won a little.

Why didn't Guanyin find a fairy with overwhelming advantages? We know that there are two major forces in Heaven, Taoism and Buddhism. The Taoist priest Taishang Laojun is the founder of Taoism, with deep roots and many students. The power of Buddhism has just risen, and it is precisely because of the Monkey King's rebellion that it has given Buddhism a good opportunity. If you can recommend someone to soothe the demon monkey, you will naturally leave a good impression in front of the Jade Emperor. But if such a good opportunity does not reflect the difficulty of persuasion, the efforts made by Buddhism for this matter will not be worth it. After all, the Jade Emperor is not worried about the Monkey King.

Then Guanyin took advantage of the close fight between Erlang God and Wukong to make the Master throw out a diamond bracelet and attack the Monkey King. I finally caught the magic monkey.

Guanyin won a good reputation for Buddhism through this move. As for later, the Tathagata personally photographed Wukong at the foot of Wuxing Mountain, which really showed his face and greatly increased the reputation of Buddhism. Then Guanyin recommended Erlang God, which is a good explanation. The purpose is to develop the power of Buddhism!
