Follow the clue and lead to the big case behind it. In April this year, the Economic Investigation Department and the Network Security Department of Hezhou Public Security Bureau found in their work that Zhang Moufeng, a native of Zhongshan County, Hezhou City, used the online platform "U Bao" of Youlian Wanjia Company for suspected pyramid schemes. The business model of the platform has the characteristics of pyramid selling, such as admission fee, hierarchical formation and payment by number of people. Hezhou City Public Security Bureau handed over the clue to Zhongshan County Public Security Bureau while reporting to the superior.

After further investigation, it was found that the suspect Wang Moufan and others relied on the platform of Beijing Youlian Wanjia Technology Development Co., Ltd. to issue virtual currency "U Bao" to raise funds, and used high income as bait to attract a large number of members to sell "U Bao" to members online to defraud property and induce participants to continue to develop others' participation. Their actions seriously disrupted the economic order and were suspected of organizing and leading pyramid schemes.

In mid-July, Zhongshan County Public Security Bureau organized "7. 1 1" task force police to arrest Wang et al. 16 suspects in Beijing, Fuzhou and Shenzhen.

In order to attract a large number of members to join, and gain huge profits, the platform of "U Bao" has set up the joining rules and reward mechanism. New members of the "Youbao" platform can register online through the "Youbao" platform through their mobile phones or computers. When registering, in addition to your name, phone number and ID number, you also need to fill in your recommended member and contact member. The platform system automatically identifies records according to the recommendation relationship, thus forming the relationship between recommenders and new members, developing offline indefinitely, and forming a top-down, multi-level and pyramid-shaped MLM organization system.

By the time of the crime, Youbao Platform * * * had developed into twelve systems such as Yixin System, Xinyuan System and Kirin System, with more than 6,543.8+0.2 million registered members and more than 460,000 registered accounts, involving 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, including Guangdong, Shandong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangxi, Hunan and Beijing. By selling "U Bao" to offline members, the platform has absorbed more than 900 million yuan from members.

There are many people involved in this case, and the amount involved is huge, so the preservation of electronic evidence is urgent. Since the case was filed, the Party Group of Zhongshan County Procuratorate attached great importance to it and immediately launched a joint trial mechanism for major cases. The deputy procurator-general in charge of criminal prosecution personally led the team, intervened in the investigation in advance, timely understood and grasped the progress of the case, and guided the investigators to accurately and comprehensively screen and fix the evidence.

Finally, it was decided to approve the arrest of 16 suspects who organized and led pyramid schemes submitted by the public security organs. At present, the case is being further processed.

In recent years, new online pyramid schemes have become more and more frequent. Criminals use the concepts of "internet finance" and "unlimited profit sharing" to disguise themselves, attract people to invest with high returns as bait, and engage in pyramid schemes on the Internet. It is difficult to hide the essence of pyramid selling behind gorgeous packaging.

The prosecutor reminded the broad masses of the people that in the name of developing members and joining the company, asking for funds, buying products and developing offline, and using the funds or sales paid by offline as the basis for remuneration commission, all belong to pyramid schemes.
