Hastelloy B-2(N 10665) nickel-base alloy/Hastelloy

Hastelloy B-2 (Hastelloy)

Hastelloy B-2 has the following characteristics.

● Keep the contents of iron and chromium to the lowest level to prevent the formation of β phase Ni4Mo.

Excellent corrosion resistance to reducing environment.

Excellent corrosion resistance to medium concentration sulfuric acid and many non-oxidizing acids.

Good resistance to chloride reduction stress corrosion cracking (SCC)

Excellent corrosion resistance to various organic acids.

Application field of Hastelloy B-2

● Widely used in chemical, petrochemical, energy manufacturing, pollution control and other fields, especially in sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid and other industries. If it is used in special fields, please consult the material supplier.

Welding of Hastelloy B-2

Hastelloy B-2 can adopt GTAW/TIG or SMAW/MMA in some cases.

The welded material shall be annealed to remove scale, oil stain and various marks. The parent metal area about 25mm wide on both sides of the weld must be polished into bright metal.

The thermal conductivity of Hastelloy B-2 is lower than that of steel. When a single V-shaped welded joint is used, the angle should be 70, the heat input should be low, and the interlayer temperature should not exceed 65438 020℃.

The oxidized color can be brushed off while the weld is still hot.

In some applications, post-weld heat treatment is needed to eliminate residual stress and improve stress corrosion cracking resistance.

In order to obtain the best corrosion resistance, argon arc welding, namely GTAW, is recommended.
