Apple SMS Synchronization: How does iPhone back up SMS?

You can back up SMS messages on your iPhone by following these steps:

1 First, connect the iPhone where you want to back up the SMS to the computer.

Next, we will use a free software provided by Apple: iTunes. After installing and opening the software on the computer, we will back up all the data on the iPhone to the computer, as shown in the figure below.

3. Next, we need to use another software: Free iTunes Backup Manager. Please make sure that the latest version is installed (so far, the latest version is 2.6), and double-click to open the backup data you see.

4. Click "SMS" in the tree control on the left, and then export the sms.db file on the right to your computer.

5. Then download and open the "Lou Yue SMS Recovery Software", and click the "File" and "Open SMS Database File" menus.

6. After opening the SMS database file, we can view all undeleted SMS messages on the iPhone on the interface. If we want to view the deleted Apple SMS, please click the "Restore Deleted SMS" menu displayed in the red box below.

7. In addition, you can click the "File" and "Export SMS" menus to export these SMS messages as txt text files.
