Every healthy male citizen must have a physical examination at the age of 18, and will receive a medical examination notice (except for male students who are still studying at school, but they can register voluntarily). Only after passing the medical examination and political examination can you be enlisted in the army. Those who were not enlisted in that year can still be enlisted for active service before the age of 22.

The ancestral home (native place) is a male citizen of Taiwan Province Province. Even if he was born and lived in the mainland, he will still receive a notice of military service at the age of 18, go to Taiwan Province Province for military service, and return to the mainland after serving.

The conscription office of the Ministry of National Defense has adjusted the physical examination standards, mainly in four aspects:

2. Adjustment of weight standard. For young candidates with excellent physical conditions, the weight can be relaxed to no more than 25% of the standard weight and no less than 15% of the standard weight.

3. Adjustment of visual standards. Except for qualified soldiers with special requirements, the naked eye vision of the right eye is relaxed from 4.8 to 4.6, and that of the left eye is relaxed from 4.6 to 4.5 for young people with college education or above who have been enlisted in the army.
