What is a thermal camera? What's the role?

The thermal imager uses an infrared detector and an optical imaging objective to receive the infrared radiation energy distribution pattern of the measured object and reflect it on the photosensitive element of the infrared detector, thus obtaining an infrared thermal image, which corresponds to the thermal distribution field on the surface of the object. Generally speaking, a thermal imager converts the invisible infrared energy emitted by an object into a visible thermal image. Different colors on the thermal image represent different temperatures of the measured object. Thermal imager has the advantages of being unaffected by visible light, 24-hour clear imaging, non-contact temperature measurement, smoke and fog penetration, etc.

The application space of thermal imager is very wide, which can be used in all aspects of life, such as epidemic prevention and control, human body temperature measurement, industrial temperature measurement (electric power detection, building detection, dangerous chemicals detection, household water and electricity heating detection, etc. ), autonomous driving, outdoor observation and so on. I believe that in the near future, thermal imaging technology can be more fully popularized and applied.
