What should I do if I want to be a live TV server in an Internet cafe?

The following are the relevant settings of the movie service system in Internet cafes (as simple as that)

0. First of all, your network has been set up, and you can exchange visits through online neighbors, which is the foundation (if your customers can access the Internet, this is not a problem! )

1. Choose a computer (or several computers, each one is more troublesome) as a video server, copy your movies to the hard disk, and set all the movie files as * * * sharing (usually * * * sharing folders, each folder has a certain number of movies);

2. Install the playing software on the client, and establish the fast access mode of movie files on the video server;

Nothing, it's as simple as that. (Oh, isn't it over? Don't tell me your sound card isn't installed yet! )

Of course, there are some knowledge that can make your video system perform best:

Select the appropriate playback software.

The following are several kinds of playback software I have used:

Windows Media Player+Divx (mpeg codec) is mainly used to play movies in mpeg format. Its advantages are fast startup and few system resources, but its disadvantages are that it does not support many formats (fatal).

Most Internet cafes are using realplayer, because it is a special playback software in rm format, with simple interface and easy production. The old version of real doesn't support movies in other formats, but the new version supports many formats, including mpeg format, because it adds multiple plug-ins. However, I found that some versions of real can't fast forward when playing mpeg, and there will be a false crash when dragging the scroll bar, which can only be solved by ending the task with three keys.

Kingplayer iii supports the most complete formats (including music files), and the installation does not take up much space (less than 40 megabytes for complete installation), and takes up less system resources.

Oriental Cinema supports many formats, especially the stereoscopic version, which allows you to watch stereoscopic movies. The effect is really cool, but it also has many disadvantages, such as a large installation space (80 megabytes for a complete installation) and a large consumption of system resources.

In addition, Super Jieba 2003 is said to be good. I have never used it, and I dare not jump to conclusions (but I don't care if there is no qualitative change compared with 2000). Interested friends can try it and compare it with other software.

According to my experience, I first recommend Kim Young-Sam as the playing software of Internet cafes (I solemnly declare that I never charge Jinshan Company a penny for advertising! )

Attachment: Disambiguation of two popular compressed image formats, mpeg (corresponding to file extension avi) is actually an audio and video compression technology, which is a lossy compression by recording the information of the original audio and video files, replacing the encoding with some algorithm, and decoding by mpeg codec when playing. Rm is our most common compression format, and another algorithm it uses has a larger compression ratio (the file size can be reduced to half that of mpeg), so the distortion is greater and the effect is not as good as that of mpeg format.

Matters needing attention

1, the video server should not be the same as the network server. If your Internet cafe is large enough, it is recommended to use a dedicated video server (if it is not open to the public, the configuration can be very low, and the main frequency can be 300; 64m memory is 128m, which is the best. Waste too much memory. Motherboards that support large hard disks can, but they should be stable; Of course, the hard disk should be large, and 5400 rpm is enough; If you want to open your business to the outside world, you need a slightly higher configuration. Celeron II processor is recommended. Of course, if your Internet cafe is small, there is no need to set up a special video server.

2. Try to install movies in rm format, which has the advantages of small hard disk space, fast transmission speed and many terminals supported by a movie server. The disadvantage is that it is not as good as mpg4 and vcd, but as long as the cd is not too bad, it generally has no effect.

Be sure to appreciate and create shortcuts for all your movies, so that you can see all the movies on any terminal. If your movie is stored in several computers, you should first create a folder, put the shortcut of the movie on other computers, and then copy this folder to the desktop of each terminal, put beautiful icons on it, and take a file name similar to "movie appreciation". This method is also applicable to the use of various songs, and a "music appreciation" can be established in a similar way.

4, network settings: choose fast login among Microsoft network customers, so that the network driver will not be detected during the startup process, and the startup speed will be accelerated;

When logging in, you can choose windows to log in, and there will be no login dialog box during the startup process, which can avoid the situation that you can't log in to the network because the login time is cancelled (in this case, the client can surf the Internet, but can't access the online neighbors).

5, the same film can be called by several computers at the same time, generally does not affect the effect, but try to avoid (hard disk loss). If there are too many people watching a movie at the same time, make several copies on the hard disk in advance (try to choose different partitions) for recall.

6. How many users can a movie server support to watch at the same time? Medium-sized Internet cafes (single video server, less than 50 clients, using 10m network, of course 100M network is better) A video server can support about 20 computers to play rm movies at the same time (mpeg or vcd will be less). In fact, it is impossible for all customers of Internet cafes to watch movies together (generally below 50%), so this figure can basically meet the needs of less than 50 Internet cafes.

Example of actual environment (my Internet cafe): Yi Tuo University, 36 computers, 10m network, single video server (c2-600, 128m, 2*40g/5400 rpm, open to the public); Store movies in different folders according to their types (such as Jackie Chan's Complete Works, 007 Complete Works, American blockbusters, New Year's films, so-and-so TV series, so-and-so cartoons, etc.). ), enjoy these folders, set shortcuts on video servers on various computers, and change the title of * * * to video appreciation; Four hubs (three 16 ports and one 8 port) are stacked together; When it is full, about 15 people usually watch movies at the same time, and at most 19 people watch movies at the same time (and listen to the music of the video server at the same time). Working normally, there has never been a broadcast storm.

Difficult problems and related problems in film and television communication;

It's normal for internet cafes to have problems, but it's not normal if there is no problem. Of course, the film and television system is no exception, but its problems are generally easy to solve compared with the network problems.

Realplayer's channel problem, realplayer can't adjust the channel, which is the biggest bug of this software. Upgrade n times has not been solved. I have no idea what these software manufacturers are doing. Of course, we also have a way to deal with it, that is, calling the sound properties of the system to adjust the channel (a bit troublesome). The method is: bring up the sound properties (the fastest way is to double-click the small speaker icon in the taskbar) and adjust two items. If your menu is in Chinese, these two items are the main volume and sound wave, and if it is in English, it is the volume and sound wave. The sound channel is mainly controlled by the volume, and sound waves can optimize the sound properties. The actual comparison shows what these two items are all about. To add the most important point, your movie must be dual-channel to adjust. If the disc maker makes two channels together, it's no use tuning them again.

Intermittent problems appear in the broadcast, and the sound or image appears intermittent during the screening. If it is a network factor, it may be a problem with the movie server, which is the case when computers watch movies on the local area network. This phenomenon will be obvious. At this time, we have to deal with the movie server. If it is only a single machine, please play again and restart at the latest.

The problem that audio and video images are different, and the problem that sound and image are inconsistent in the process of watching a movie is that the playback equipment and image equipment are not coordinated when the system is processing, which can usually be solved by closing the current playback task and reopening it.

The problem that can't be played is that no matter how you double-click it, you can't open the movie file. This is because the current system resources can't call out the player, and it needs to be restarted to solve it (don't forget to tell me if anyone has a simpler solution! )

For the problem of low volume, if there is nothing wrong with your sound card (some sound cards have low volume, which is difficult to solve from the software aspect, so you can only add active speakers to increase the volume), in addition to maximizing the earphone volume and the main volume in the sound attribute, it is also important to adjust the sound wave attribute. Often, improper sound wave setting will lead to low volume. Please adjust the "balance" left and right to find out the best effect.

Well, I've talked a lot and I'm really tired. I will be very happy if these words can bring some understanding to those colleagues who are in a confused state. If the film and television system you made really helped you improve your efficiency, I couldn't be happier. Of course, because everyone's specific environment is different, and in order to avoid the disconnection between theory and practice, I also try to proceed from reality in my writing, but some mistakes or incompatible results are inevitable. Welcome to correct me, and continue to discuss with me the technical and operational problems of video service in Internet cafes! I hope everyone gets his place!

Add two points

1, the configuration of the video server does not need to be too high. I have used three configurations: C400/64, C566/ 128 and P3 733/256, which have little effect on the viewing effect of the client.

2. One server supports clients of 10m network, and one server can support 20 terminals to play rm format. But if it is mpeg format, it can only support about 10, which means the playback effect is better. If the number of terminals exceeds this number, it can actually be supported, but the effect will be reduced (there will be occasional pauses or different audio and video).

Many friends said they wanted to be a streaming media server. To tell the truth, I don't recommend internet cafes to do this, because there are no professional technicians in internet cafes, all the software is D version, and all the maintenance is very troublesome. Although there is a cracked version on the internet, the effect is not good, but you can learn.

Most people are already very familiar with Realplayerer. Do you want to have a Realplayer server to watch movies and listen to music online with Realplayer? Real Server, a software of streaming media server, can easily realize your wish. Here, the author introduces how to use it to build a streaming media server in the LAN.

What is a real server?

RealNetworks streaming media server-side software can be used to publish audio and video files in real format on the Internet, and transmit and play them in streaming media format (RTSP protocol) on the Internet without worrying about rm files being downloaded. In order to realize the on-demand and live broadcast of online streaming video, it is necessary to install a server-side software on the hardware, which is Real Server.

Firstly, the network environment of multimedia broadcasting system is established.

The networking environment of multimedia broadcasting system requires that multiple multimedia computers be networked in a master-slave structure or a peer-to-peer structure, equipped with sound cards, stereos, earplugs, microphones and other audio equipment, which are not limited by a disk network or a diskless network. Server operating system requires Windows NT, Windows 2000Professional and Win2000 Server, server requires fixed IP address or intranet virtual IP address, and workstation requires Realplayer7.0 or above.

Second, download and install Real Server9.0.

1. How to download it

At present, the real server has version 9.0. The real server we introduced can be used for free for one year through online registration, but only 25 people are allowed to use it at the same time in the local area network. It can be downloaded from the website of RealNetworks or directly from the following address:/rnforms/products/servers/eval/index.html.

When you open the above address, you need to fill in some personal information on the page. It should be noted that when filling in the email, you must write an address that can be used, because the system needs to send a license key so that the software can be used on the server after installation. The downloaded file size is 9.7MB.

2. How to install

After the download is completed, double-click the downloaded file directly to self-extract and install. The process of installing Real Server is similar to general software installation. After self-extracting, the dialog box of Figure 1 pops up, asking for the authorization code. At this time, open the mailbox that you just filled in when downloading the software, extract the authorization code received in the mailbox to a directory with Winzip, and fill in the directory and file name saved after decompression under "License file location" in figure 1 This step is very important, whether the server can be fully used.

Click Next, select the installation directory and accept the agreement, and the dialog box in Figure 2 will pop up. User name and password are required, because the installed Realserver is a set of audio-visual server software, which is managed by the system administrator. Here, we set the user name and password to "test". Remember it and use it to log in when the installation is successful and Helix Server Administrator starts. Click "Next" again to pop up the dialog box as shown in Figure 3.

Please type a port number, which will be authorized to connect to PNA. The connection address starts with "PNA://". The following "7070" is to install the default PNA connection port number, do not change it, and then set the port numbers of RTSP connection, HTTP connection and MMS connection in the subsequent installation, do not change it, the default port number is better. The last step will pop up the dialog box as shown in Figure 4. Please be sure to tick before "install Helix Server a NT servce".

After the installation is completed, two icons will be automatically generated on the desktop, one is Helix Server and the other is Helix Server Administrator. At this point, although the system does not need to be restarted, according to my experience, it is best to start the computer after the installation is completed.

Third, start the server.

Before starting the server, confirm whether the LAN is connected and whether each workstation is equipped with Realplayer media playback software, preferably version 7.0 or above. First, click the Helix Server icon on the server desktop to start Helix Server. This program runs in DOS window. You can't automatically close the program after each run. You must manually close it and then start it later. It will automatically shut down after the operation is completed.

Fourth, start the manager.

Another icon named Helix Server Administrator on the server desktop is a system program, which is used for service management of the whole playback system. When we click on it, the "Enter Network Password" dialog box as shown in Figure 5 will pop up, where js in "Site: js" is actually the computer name of this server, and different computer names have different "sites". "domain: js AdminRealm" is a self-built network domain of the playback system. This is the user name and password to enter. Didn't we set the user name and password to "test" when we installed the system before? At this point, you can fill in this "test" with your username and password.

Fill in the password in Figure 5 and click OK to start IE browser, as shown in Figure 6. There are five lines of black letters on the left side of the picture, which are the five basic contents of all management of the playback system: ServerSetup, Security and logging &; Monitoring (login and management), broadcasting (webcasting) and content management (content management), you can try more details of each project here. Let's first look at testing the playback system on the server.

Five, playback system test

Click the first item "ServerSetup" in the management item, then pull out some fine items and click "Media Samples" (as shown in Figure 6).

On the right side of Figure 6, you can see some media materials for playing the test. Let's choose an example to test. For example, if we double-click "Play SMIL Sample 2", the Realplayer player window will pop up (as shown in Figure 7). At the beginning, we will see "connecting" and "buffering" at the bottom of the player, and they will keep beating at the right time, indicating that the whole system has been successfully installed and connected. Then Realplayer plays it. After the "location" of the player, you can see that the connection address is RTSP://JS: 554/Africa G2/Africa.smi.

In this address, we can see that the playback system plays through RTSP connection, where js is the computer name or IP address of the server, followed by "554" is the port number that can be omitted, and "/africag2/africa.smi" is the path to save the media file.

Sixth, the connection of the working end.

In the workstation, we also start Realplayer and enter "RTSP://JS: 554/AfricaG2/Africa. SMI "and" Enter "after the player's" position ". When we also see the "connection" and "buffer" at the bottom of the player and the time is constantly beating, then the whole system is completed. By default, playback files are stored in the Content subdirectory under the Helix Server installation directory. You can store rm-qualified movies in this directory, and then enter rtsp://js/ movie name.rm in the player location of the client Realplayer, and you can enjoy the movies slowly.
