Some friends chat or send text messages online, but they have nothing to say when they meet. Why?

Chatting online can be said to be a pure exchange of ideas, or to increase the space for beautiful imagination, so chatting is generally better. I do have the feeling of finding a bosom friend. But there are several situations where there is nothing to say after a real meeting. First, two people are used to irregular writing communication methods and are not used to face-to-face communication in a short period of time. Second, when two people imagine each other perfectly in chat, they will feel disappointed or lost after meeting, and naturally they don't want to talk more.
