Some citizens with weak awareness of prevention were cheated, and the losses ranged from several hundred yuan to nearly ten thousand yuan.

There have been many "ETC expired" scams.

In April, Mr. Wang of Xin 'an County suddenly received a mobile phone message. The text message reads: "High-speed ETC Dear car owners! Your ETC certification has expired, please be sure to verify and complete the certification in time before April 1, and click cn/A6**mu to complete the processing! "

Affected by the epidemic, Mr. Wang hasn't driven out for more than two months, and he hasn't used ETC, so he doesn't know whether his ETC has expired, so he clicks on the URL link attached to the SMS to check it out.

Mr. Wang found that the website page required to fill in a number of information such as mobile phone number, bank card number and verification code received by the mobile phone. "My ETC was originally bound with a bank card, and I filled in my personal information as required without much thought." He said that after about 1 minute, he filled in the received bank verification code and submitted it, but the webpage showed that the authentication failed. Then, he did it again, which completed the certification.

To Mr. Wang's surprise, his mobile phone received three debit messages from bank cards, two of which were 4,000 yuan and the other was 1000 yuan. "In less than 3 minutes, the 9000 yuan on the card was missing, and I realized that I had encountered telecom fraud." Mr. Wang said that he quickly called the bank customer service number to report the loss of the bank card, and then called 1 10.

On April 22nd, citizen Xiaokang (pseudonym) received a short message from a strange number, saying that the ETC he handled needed authentication and asked him to click a link to complete the authentication. Since Xiaokang just applied for ETC, he clicked on the link without any doubt.

After entering the webpage, Xiaokang entered the authentication information such as bank card number, password, identity information and reserved telephone number according to the prompt. Xiaokang received the verification code message, and he entered the verification code into the authentication interface without much thought. However, the reply I received later was not verified by ETC, but a short message with 20,000 yuan deducted from a bank card, and I realized that I had been cheated.

SMS and WeChat are the "hardest hit areas" of telecom fraud, but fraud involving "URL links" is not difficult to identify. Most cases are met with SMS fraud. In fact, he won't be cheated as long as he doesn't click on the link after receiving the scam message, let alone fill in his personal information on the opened webpage.

The method of fraud through WeChat is that criminals pretend to be ETC customer service or bank staff to add the victim's WeChat, claiming to provide ETC online agency business, and have activities such as "internal discount" and "giving away phone bills", and finally commit fraud on the grounds that WeChat transfer payment is needed.

According to the above cases, criminals just grasped the psychology that car owners don't understand ETC and used some short messages for fraud.
