The Historical Evolution of Anhui Radio and TV University

Anhui Radio and TV University was formally established in February, 1979. It is the only independent provincial adult undergraduate college in the province. It is a comprehensive modern distance open university with modern distance open education as the main body, multi-level, multi-specification, multi-function and multi-form.

Anhui Radio and TV University Provincial School is located in Hefei. It has three campuses: Headquarters, No.3 Jiuhuashan Road and No.375 Tongcheng Road, covering an area of 86 mu, with a building area of 50,000 square meters and a student dormitory 1000 square meter. The provincial schools now have five teaching departments, including "five colleges and one school" such as open education college, online education college, continuing education college, urban construction college, directly affiliated college and technical secondary school, as well as management, technology and teaching auxiliary departments. It has 17 municipal branch schools, 69 county-level workstations and 7 industry system teaching points.

The school adheres to the direction of "local-oriented, grassroots-oriented, rural-oriented and community-oriented" and gives full play to the advantages of systematic school-running and modern teaching methods. Over the past 30 years, more than 450,000 graduates with academic qualifications have been trained, and more than 2.3 million non-academic personnel have been trained and assessed. The graduates of RTVU can stay, use and do well, which has played an important role in all walks of life. By the end of 20 13, there were160,000 registered students in RTVU, including more than120,000 open education students. Every ten thousand people in Anhui have 17 students studying in RTVU, which contributes nearly 1.6 percentage points to the gross enrollment rate of higher education in the province.

The school insists on paying equal attention to academic education and non-academic education, running schools and services simultaneously, and implementing multi-specification, multi-function and multi-form running schools. Open education was piloted in 1999, and turned into a normal school in 2007, becoming the main form of RTVU. The school also integrates and utilizes a variety of educational resources, actively organizes adult higher education and secondary vocational education, and provides public support services for online education in colleges and universities. Non-academic continuing education has developed rapidly. Computer application ability training and assessment base, provincial primary and secondary school teachers' distance education center, provincial secondary vocational school computer backbone teacher training base, "Anhui cadre online learning center", "national training plan"-Anhui rural primary and secondary school teachers' "winning in the classroom" distance training project and national professional and technical personnel continuing education base have successively settled in our school, and gradually established a continuing education platform for the whole province.

The school pays attention to the facilities construction of modern distance education and constantly improves the conditions for running schools and the service system. Taking the work of the Ministry of Education's "Talent Training Mode Reform and Open Education Pilot" as an opportunity, we have carefully created a "digital campus", and combined satellite TV with computer networks and telecommunications networks to realize the digitalization, multimedia and interactivity of distance education, and truly realized the leap-forward development to the third generation of distance education. Modern audio-visual studio, digital library, webcast classroom, pure software two-way video system, VOD system, short message publishing platform, voice mailbox, telephone answering and other facilities with TV University characteristics, multimedia network projection classroom, online reading room, voice classroom and so on have been built. , and there are 6.5438+0.2 million networked computers.
