Record the experience of hospitalization examination of gastrointestinal diseases

I have complicated gastrointestinal problems, so I have to be hospitalized for a series of tests. Some tests are done for the first time, and some are uneasy, so I want to search some other people's experiences to prepare myself psychologically. However, it is found that the results that can be searched are still too few, and the opinions are not unified. So I want to write down this week's experience, which not only records my life, but also may be searched by people in need, which can eliminate some other people's anxiety.

There is no exam on the day of admission. Mainly communicated with the doctor about the current symptoms. After going back to discuss it for a while, the doctor came to tell me what to do next.

I am most concerned about gastrointestinal endoscopy. I wish I had a general anesthesia. Because I had an ordinary gastroscope before, it was quite uncomfortable. After inserting the tube into my throat, I began to vomit. I could feel the tube shuttle between my esophagus and my stomach. The intense nausea and anxiety were so painful that I cried all over my pillow. So I did a gastroscope for the second time, and after general anesthesia, the consciousness gradually blurred after the anesthetic came in. I think many netizens say that being completely unconscious during general anesthesia is like falling asleep, but I can still vaguely hear some noises, but I have no other feelings, and then I am woken up and told that it is over. The whole process can be said to be without any pain. So I had a colonoscopy, and I also chose general anesthesia, and I felt the same way.

But this time, the doctor said that the general anesthesia was arranged too little and the time for sedation and analgesia was too long. I am worried that I can't do general anesthesia. But the doctor said don't worry, this calm person is not in pain, almost all patients in the nearby ward are like this, and general anesthesia will only be arranged for the elderly and children. I'm still worried, but I can't help it. I can't stay in the hospital for another week just to have a general anesthesia, so I have to reluctantly agree. Later, I also searched the opinions of many netizens, but there were great differences. Some people say that sedation and analgesia are general; Some people say they will lose some feelings; Others say that it is similar to general anesthesia, and even say that they will lose their memory after doing it. I think there are some differences about the standard of "sedation and analgesia", which leads to such a big difference.

In the afternoon, CTE of abdomen and small intestine and abdominal color Doppler ultrasound should be done. CTE arranged for me at five o'clock in the afternoon, so I fasted after lunch.

The doctor said to do color Doppler ultrasound after CTE, and told me to do it early, because color Doppler ultrasound got off work early. But as I said, it doesn't matter if I can't catch up with the color ultrasound. I can make another appointment. So I went after three o'clock.

After that, there were some episodes. After going to CTE, the doctor at CTE seemed to be too busy. Before my time, he went to have a color Doppler ultrasound and said that he got off work early there. However, when I went to do color Doppler ultrasound, the doctor said that I needed to drink water, so I had to finish the small intestine CTE before I could do this, because the small intestine CTE would drink water. So, I went to CTE again, but the doctor of CTE still asked me to do color ultrasound first, and said angrily, "I can't do it for you now." So, I went to do color Doppler ultrasound again, but once again it was clear that I had to drink water to do it. After going back and forth twice, CTE finally had to give up and let me do color ultrasound first. It is also clear that color Doppler ultrasound will definitely leave work after I finish CTE, so color Doppler ultrasound will definitely have to reschedule. I see.

When the CTE department waited until 4:45, it was called to drink medicine. Pour the liquid medicine into a 2L water bottle that needs to be filled with 2L water. I need to drink 1.5L from now until 5:30. The taste of the medicine is very weak, basically similar to drinking water, and I have no obvious nausea after drinking it. The doctor said I could urinate halfway, but I don't know if it's the medicine. Although I drank a lot and my stomach was swollen, the feeling of urinating was not so strong. I only urinated once, and the amount of excretion was not large.

Although the medicine is not disgusting, I still can't drink so much water in a short time, so I still can't drink 1.5L at 5: 30, only about1L. I told the doctor that 1.5L didn't drink enough, and the doctor said it didn't matter. Next, I put an intravenous indwelling needle on my arm. Then he gave me an injection in the crotch. Later, I was told to wait by and drink the rest of the water.

But I still have too much water to drink, so I just managed to drink two more cups. After a while, the doctor indicated that it was my turn to go in, but didn't confirm whether I had finished drinking the water. But I think my abdomen is swollen, and I think it should achieve the effect.

After entering the examination room, I lay on the bed of the machine. This machine has a huge ring outside the bed. My arm was asked to be put behind my head, and then the intravenous needle on my arm was connected to a pump, and then the developer was pressed in.

The process of inspection is basically that the machine pushes the bed back and forth (or pushes the ring, I forgot) to take pictures. Every time you push and pull, a machine prompts you to breathe in and hold your breath. But for a moment, I suddenly felt my arm was pressed into a lot of liquid. Because of the pressure, I was a little panicked, so "hey! ? "I gave a cry, and the doctor next to me said don't move, saying that it is normal to feel hot. After a few seconds, I really felt very hot. Although it is painless, the temperature rise at this moment will still make people feel a little uneasy. Fortunately, the time is not very long.

About ten minutes after the examination, the doctor asked me to sit by and observe for half an hour before pulling out the needle on my arm and letting me go. But I didn't sit honestly, but I wanted to see if the color ultrasound was still there, but I was off work. After all, it's already half past six. Then the color Doppler ultrasound can only make an appointment another day.

On weekends, doctors do not go to work and do not check. I spend most of my time playing games in my hospital bed.

On the afternoon of September 4th, the doctor informed me that I would have a gastroscope on September 7th, and I would eat liquid food and abstain from vegetables and fish for these two days. I asked the doctor if cookies were okay. The doctor looked at my soda cookies and thought for a while, but shook his head and said not to eat them. I think it looks stricter than the last colonoscopy. Last time I was admitted to the hospital, I informed colonoscopy the next day. However, I also ate tomatoes, eggs and rice at noon that day, so I should pay attention to my diet two days in advance this time. But I think it's good to be more rigorous. So my Sunday meals are: soybean milk rice porridge, fish rice porridge and egg soup rice porridge. Monday is: eggs, soybean milk, rice porridge, egg soup, rice porridge.

But I'm really hungry on Sunday afternoon, so I want to eat some cookies. There are different opinions on whether you can eat biscuits on the Internet, but I think that although it is hard, it is also flour, and you should be able to eat a small bag. However, I have some regrets after eating, because I saw some chopped green onion in the soda biscuit. Although it is rare, vegetables are absolutely fasting. I am a little scared and dare not eat the second bag.

After lunch, the doctor told me not to eat after four o'clock, but to drink.

After five o'clock, I was worried that I would have too little energy without eating, so I asked the doctor for a bottle of glucose. I said I wanted to take it orally, and the doctor gave me a bottle with "Glucose Injection" on it, but she said I could take it orally, so I cut it open and took it back to my room to drink. It tastes slightly sweet, not bad. My clinical buddy said that intravenous injection of glucose was effective, and I said it was true, but I didn't want an injection. And in fact, I don't have obvious dizziness. This bottle is probably drinkable but not drinkable.

It's time to drink laxatives. Some people say that the most uncomfortable thing about colonoscopy is to drink laxatives. I quite agree. At the last colonoscopy, it was ok at first, but later it became more and more disgusting, and I felt like I was going to throw up after another sip. Although I played it several times, the clarity was still not up to standard, and I finally drank more than half of it at 12. I was so sleepy that I wanted to lie in bed and rest for a while before getting up and drinking. I didn't expect to fall asleep directly. It's almost dawn when you wake up again. It's time to drink. I panicked and told the doctor. The doctor says there's nothing we can do without cleaning it up. I just want to see where the pipe can be pushed. Fortunately, I didn't tell you later that colonoscopy was affected because it didn't clean the intestines.

With the last experience, I want to drink laxatives early this time. But to my disappointment, the nurse didn't bring the laxative until eight o'clock. 2L of the medicine, let it finish in 2 hours, then drink 1L of laxative, and then drink 1L of water. Finally, film the "clear water stool" and send it to them. You can't sleep until you reach the standard. I feel that this standard is very strict, but I haven't eaten leftovers these two days, so I think it should be no problem.

As a result, I was wrong, and this time it was very problematic. I took a sip and found that I was nauseous, even more so than last time. It may be related to the type. Last time I drank magnesium sulfate, this time I drank compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder. I have forgotten the taste last time, but this time it smells a little pineapple, but it tastes salty and turns my stomach after a few bites. After drinking 800ml, I can't drink any more, and I feel that I will vomit if I drink any more.

I resisted the desire to throw up and went to the nurse's desk. They asked me how much I had drunk and what I was doing. But I can only say awkwardly that I only drank 800ml and didn't pull it once, because it was disgusting. The doctor said, why don't you try another brand? Although they are all compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder, I can drink Hershey and try Hengkang Zhengqing.

Hengkang Zhengqing and I went back to our room, made 1L, and then tried a cup. I found that the taste was almost the same, and the nausea was still obvious. At this time, I was sick and worried that I couldn't do colonoscopy. I think I don't care about the pain during colonoscopy at this time. I just want to clear my intestines quickly and do colonoscopy smoothly.

I went to the nurse again and said I still couldn't drink. The nurse said that it is the worst thing for you to want to vomit like this, or spit it out. So I went back to my room, had another drink, and undoubtedly began to vomit. I vomited a lot of liquid, and I felt it was 100~200ml. After vomiting, I began to drink Hengkang Zhengqing, and I didn't feel as good as He Shuang. This Hengkang Zhengqing feels a little salty. As a result, after drinking 200ml, it returned to the state of "vomiting after another sip".

I want to give up colonoscopy completely, but the nurse said, you are an intestinal disease, how can you not do colonoscopy? I think so too. Perhaps colonoscopy is the most important examination at present. But I really can't have a colonoscopy tomorrow morning. The nurse said to let me sleep first. Colonoscopy can be postponed.

I finally defecated after getting up. But there are few solids. I think this is probably because I only ate food without residue the other day.

The nurse made me drink 1L laxatives again. Maybe the colonoscopy will be arranged in the afternoon. He also asked me which to drink, "Heshuang" or "Hengkang Zhengqing". I chose the "He Shuang" I started drinking. Surprisingly, when I drank it again this morning, the feeling of nausea was less than last night. Maybe I couldn't drink it because I didn't defecate last night?

The doctor went to work around nine o'clock, and they officially told me that the colonoscopy was scheduled for tomorrow, so I could drink laxatives slowly. However, I still can't eat all day. If I feel dizzy, I can ask them for some glucose. I think it should be no problem to clear the intestines for one day. After all, I drank nearly 2L of laxatives and pulled them several times. I'm sure I can drink enough laxatives in the future.

In the afternoon, there was an anal canal enhanced MRI in the place where CTE was done a few days ago. I went to wait early.

This test seems to have no special requirements except for an empty stomach. I thought the doctor specially arranged to clean my intestines after colonoscopy, but my intestines haven't been cleaned yet, so I'm a little worried. But then I asked the examining doctor, and he said it doesn't matter. On the contrary, if he has just finished colonoscopy and cut a polyp, it will not work.

Next, like CTE, I inserted an intravenous indwelling needle in my arm. The nurse also pushed a needle of normal saline and asked me if I felt sick. This seems to confirm whether the needle is safe.

After entering the examination room, there is a big machine that looks luxurious. I lie in it. Like last time, my arm is behind my head. The needle on my arm is connected to a pump, which can pump out the developer. The doctor just told me to lie still. It takes about half an hour.

It's even more interesting when the machine starts running. Because it has been making great sound effects, the bed sometimes vibrates with small amplitude and high frequency. After a while, the pump began to pump liquid into the arm, but the pressure was not as high as last time, but the liquid was very cold, and I could feel it flowing all over my body along the blood vessels.

After a long time, I finally came out. Like last time, we need to wait for half an hour to see if there is anything uncomfortable.

Half an hour later, I went to the nurse to prepare for pulling out the venous indwelling needle. But the doctor knew that I would have a gastrointestinal endoscopy tomorrow morning and advised me to keep it, because I would also be anesthetized tomorrow. So I kept it. But after a few steps, I regret it again, because it's really inconvenient to wear and I'm not afraid to tie it tomorrow. But on second thought, I want to have a glucose injection in the future, so I'd better keep it.

After returning to the ward, I asked the nurse to give me a bottle of glucose intravenously. Although I don't feel dizzy for the time being, considering that I haven't eaten for a day and I'm worried about what will happen at night or tomorrow morning, I'd better replenish some energy early.

At eight o'clock in the evening, I began to drink. Compared with yesterday, today's nausea is much less. The defecation is also very smooth. Drinking and pulling until 1.3L, and finally discharging the standard "clear water stool". The nurse said that such clear water should be discharged for 3 to 5 times before it is qualified. I can finally sleep after eleven o'clock.

After such hard preparation, I finally ushered in this can be said to be the most important exam. It feels like it's off, boss.

After entering the consulting room, I took medicine to numb my throat for a minute and then swallowed it. I've already drunk it twice. It seems that I need to take this medicine now whether it is "ordinary", "general anesthesia" or "sedation and analgesia".

Then I changed my pants and sat at the entrance of the examination room. On the way, I saw someone else doing general anesthesia, lying in bed, and it seemed that I didn't know the situation after being woken up by the doctor. Then the doctor told her twice and did it. It seems that he completely lost consciousness during anesthesia. I really envy him.

Gradually, the numbness in the throat has passed the most numb time. I was wondering if it would have any effect, so I was called by the doctor for an examination.

After entering, I lay on my side in bed as required. Then the doctor injected me with two tubes of medicine. But what I think is: here it is! ? Because I saw someone say "sedation is semi-anesthesia" and "sedation leads to confusion", I thought I would be given more potions, just like general anesthesia. However, there are only two short tubes, which not only makes me doubt the effect of anesthesia.

After that, I also stayed awake. The first thing to do is gastroscope. After the tube is inserted into the throat, the feeling of foreign body entering the throat is still very uncomfortable. I was wondering if it was no different from ordinary gastroscope. . . Then there is the nausea of the tube entering the stomach with the esophagus. The most painful thing is that when they hit the air, I retch every time they hit the air, and then the doctor said not to retch! But there is no way! Then she kept letting me "exhale", but at that time, I was very uncomfortable and confused. I didn't know if she wanted me to inhale or blow. Fortunately, at last they had an operation because she said, "Well, why didn't you exhale at the beginning?" But in the end, I don't know whether I should inhale or blow.

Although it is more painful, the gastroscope is done quickly and feels faster than the ordinary gastroscope. I think sedative and analgesic anesthetics may have played some role. Because I remember the last time I had an ordinary gastroscope, I vomited from beginning to end and cried a pillow. But this time it seems that I just threw up when I started smoking, and then I stopped crying.

Next is the colonoscopy, conscious, and I feel a little when the tube is inserted into the back door. I was worried at first. Because my back door is still afraid of pain, I used to feel very painful when I checked my fingers, not to mention inserting it so deep now. Surprisingly, however, my feeling is only at the back door, and I feel nothing after entering the door. I asked the doctor if the pipe had gone in, and the doctor said it had. After that, you can feel the pipe moving slightly. When you push it somewhere, you will feel swollen, but it is not painful. After that, I felt very weak. Did I ask the doctor? The doctor said nothing, but I could feel something on the back door, as if I was going to vent my anger. After a while, it's finally over and I can get up.

It's easier to look at colonoscopy like this than expected. I haven't had an ordinary colonoscopy, and I don't know how much sedative and analgesic drugs have played, but as far as I feel at present, it is completely acceptable. If I had to choose between general anesthesia, I would choose sedation and analgesia colonoscopy. As for gastroscope, sedation and analgesia are still very uncomfortable, but it is not unacceptable to think about it for a short time, but only if I understand how I should cooperate next time he cheers. . .

After getting up, although awake, I feel a little unstable. I sat by and observed for half an hour, and then I went back to the ward.

Although there is color Doppler ultrasound. However, the doctor said it was unnecessary. If there is nothing wrong with CT, there is no need to do it. If you do, there will be a short examination tomorrow, so you will probably be discharged tomorrow.

In other words, I have completed the most painful and important examination in this hospital. At this time, I feel as if I have just completed a major event, and my mood is extremely relaxed. Then I waited for the results to come out to see a doctor, and then I was discharged from the hospital.
