Kennedy Black Canyon National Park

The Black Canyon in Gunnison National Park is located in the western part of Colorado, USA, and is managed by the National Park Service.

The park has two entrances, one in the south and the other in the north. The north entrance is closed in winter. Long before the first Europeans came here, the local Ute Indians had already seen the Black Canyon. Only after the independence of the United States did Spanish expeditions pass through this canyon twice. The Black Canyon of Ganesha is commercially developed as a tourist attraction. The American National Monument in the United States was upgraded to a national park, which is a relatively late one in the United States.

Ganeshan Black Canyon National Park is famous for its canyon landscape. According to the rock composition of Black Canyon, Precambrian gneiss and schist are its main components. The deepest canyon is more than 800 meters deep and about 2 kilometers wide. If you only look at these figures, you won't find anything outstanding about this canyon park. You won't understand until you enter the park.

The canyon scenery in Black Canyon National Park is magnificent. Its spectacular feature is that many narrow canyon walls are almost vertical, which makes the Gunnison River flowing through the valley bottom particularly turbulent. The canyon rocks are dark in color, slightly blue, straight up and down and angular. In addition, the murals in the north of the canyon are also a scene in the national park.

Most tourists in Kennedy Black Canyon National Park only visit the South Cliff, and the road condition of the South Cliff is also good, especially the asphalt road. The road leading to the North Cliff is the original road surface. The north cliff is higher than the south cliff. Standing on the Beijing Trail near the northwest corner of the North Cliff, you can overlook the scenery of the two cliffs. However, due to the poor road conditions, it takes about half a day to a day in the North Cliff, depending on personal circumstances.
