Chronology of major events in Pingyang Normal School of Zhejiang Province

On October 24, 1942, according to the regulations of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, the Pingyang County Government decided to add a "simple normal class" to Pingyang County Junior High School (the predecessor of Pingyang County No. 1 Middle School).

On February 8, 1943, the simple normal class in Pingyang County started.

On March 29, 1943, the students of Pingyang County Simple Normal College took the oath of admission.

On October 22, 1943, Pingyang County Simple Normal School was filed with the Provincial Department of Education and officially established.

In November 1943, Chen Zhuofu, Yidong Township, Jiangnan District, donated 200 acres of land to the Pingyang County Simple Normal University.

In December 1943, Pingyang County Simple Normal College established a preparatory committee for the establishment of the school. It hired 23 people including Zhang Shaowu and Li Fang as preparatory committee members. It raised 800,000 yuan and determined the Jiangnan District Central Primary School. (now Yishan Town Primary School, Cangnan County) is the school site.

On January 3, 1944, the Pingyang County Government appointed Yang Deyu as the acting principal of the Simple Normal College. Pingyang County Simple Normal University issued a notice to the whole county for the first time, stipulating that the schooling system will last for 4 years, admission will be at public expense, and 62 new students will be admitted.

In April 1944, the Shanghai Broadsword Society came ashore from the stern. The Kuomintang government sent troops to pursue and suppress them, and stationed in Pingyang Simple Normal College. The school was suspended for more than 20 days.

In June 1944, the Simplified Normal University was ordered to change the academic system to three years and start enrolling students in the autumn.

On November 29, 1944, the Ministry of Education awarded Chen Zhuofu a first-class certificate, and the provincial government awarded him a plaque for "Cultivation of Teachers".

In September 1945, when news of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War came out, students from Pingyang Simple Normal University took to the streets to celebrate.

On November 24, 1945, Pingyang Simple Normal University held its first sports meeting.

In the summer vacation of 1948, students from Binh Duong Simple Normal College were ordered to use the vacation to return to their hometown to investigate the tenancy system.

On July 12, 1949, the Pingyang County Government Preparatory Committee hired nine people including Huang Shumin, Chen Zezhi, Yang Shilin, Fang Runing, Chen Zongzuo, Wu Shupu, Lu Shengliang, Huang Qingsheng, and Wang Yangxi to form Pingyang The normal school resumption preparatory committee went to Yishan to take over the normal school, but it soon ceased operations.

In August 1952, the Wenzhou Special Administrative Region and the Department of Culture and Education instructed Pingyang County to establish a crash course for beginners, enrolling students in Pingyang, Wencheng, Ruian, Taishun and other counties, with a one-year academic duration.

In September 1952, Pingyang Junior Teachers’ Short-term Training Class opened, and the Pingyang County Government appointed Zheng Zhongken (formerly Pingyang County Culture and Education Section Chief) as the teaching director and acting principal. The school was located in Zhenglou, Wanquan District. Wenzhou Normal School.

In August 1953, Wenzhou Normal School moved from Zhenglou, Pingyang to Wenzhou City. Eight classes of Ruian Junior Normal School were ordered to move to Zhenglou and merged with three classes of Pingyang Junior Normal School, called "Ruian Junior School". Normal School”, with Xiang Weixin as principal.

On March 18, 1954, the Provincial Department of Culture and Education notified that the Ruian Junior Division was placed under the leadership of the Pingyang People's Government, and the Ruian Junior Division was renamed Pingyang Junior Division.

In the summer vacation of 1954, the first five classes of Pingyang Junior Normal School (Ruian Junior Normal School enrolled in the autumn of 1951) graduated.

In the summer of 1956, the Provincial Department of Education decided to cancel Pingyang Junior Normal School, and the three ungraduated classes were transferred to Yueqing Junior Normal School to continue their studies.

In the autumn of 1958, the Wenzhou Special Administrative Office approved the establishment of Pingyang Normal School, enrolling two classes of general teachers for the first time. Pingyang County appointed Chen Jinggui to be temporarily in charge of school affairs.

In the spring of 1959, Pingyang Junior Preschool Normal School and Pingyang County Correspondence School were merged into Pingyang Normal School.

On April 23, 1959, with the approval of the Wenzhou Prefectural Committee, the Pingyang County Committee appointed Chen Jinggui as the principal.

On July 17, 1959, the Wenzhou Special Administrative Office approved the construction of new school buildings for seven schools including Pingyang Normal University.

On July 28, 1959, the Cultural and Educational Bureau of the Wenzhou Special Administrative Region agreed with the Pingyang County People’s Committee to choose Punan as the base for the new school building of Pingyang Normal University.

On August 14, 1959, the new school building of Pingshi Normal University broke ground.

In the first half of 1960, the Pingyang County People's Committee built a new Pingshi Normal School building in Banshan Nunnery.

On May 29, 1960, the Wenzhou Prefectural Committee decided that Chen Jinggui would be appointed as the Party branch secretary and vice president of the Normal University, and Sun Jie would concurrently be the principal.

In February 1961, in accordance with the party’s eight-character policy of “adjustment, consolidation, enrichment and improvement”, Pingyang Second Normal School (founded in 1960, located in today’s Qiaodun Town, Cangnan County) was merged into Pingyang Normal School School.

In September 1965, the school opened again and was called "Pingyang Half Farming and Half Study Normal School". It has enrolled 53 students from Pingyang and Taishun counties. The school building is temporarily borrowed from "Dongyue Temple", and Feng Shengchuan is the person in charge of the school.

In the spring of 1966, the school moved back to its old campus in Punan.

In the autumn of 1968, students were assigned for graduation, and graduation certificates were issued in 1984.

In the autumn of 1977, the Pingyang County Party Committee decided to form the "Zhejiang Province Pingyang Normal School Preparatory Group" consisting of Chen Yichuan, Zhang Wen, and Zeng Qinghua.

On July 28, 1978, the Provincial Education Bureau Zhejiang Jiaozi (78) No. 250 approved the restoration and construction of Pingyang Normal School.

On August 5, 1978, the seal of "Zhejiang Pingyang Normal School" was activated.

In September 1978, the Pingyang County Party Committee appointed Xu Yusong as party branch secretary, and Li Changmao, deputy secretary of the Pingyang County Party Committee, as the principal.

In June 1979, Chinese-American Professor Yang Zhongdao, director of the Teaching Department of the University of Pennsylvania, came to give lectures.

In September 1979, the Pingyang County Party Committee appointed Xu Yusong as party branch secretary and principal.

In the autumn of 1979, the school enrolled civilian normal college classes (external classes of Wenzhou Normal University).

On September 30, 1980, a Mandarin promotion group was established.

On November 18, 1980, a Chinese language teaching and research activity for middle school teachers of the regional education bureau was held.

On April 4, 1981, "Xiantan Literature and Art" was first published.

On December 22, 1981, a celebration was held to commend veteran teachers who had taught for more than 30 years.

On April 27, 1982, Vice President Lin Houfa attended the Provincial Model Worker Activists Congress.

On October 28, 1982, special teacher Chen Jiazhao was invited to the school to give a report.

On November 27, 1982, the first track and field games were held.

In March 1983, the school trade union was rated as the “Excellent Trade Union Collective” in 1982 by the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions.

In June 1983, the "Opinions on Revising the Moral Grade Assessment of Normal College Students" were promulgated.

In September 1984, the Pingyang County Party Committee appointed Xu Yusong as party branch secretary and Zhan Zhenquan as principal. Since the school location of Wenzhou Preschool Normal School has not yet been confirmed, the first batch of students enrolled in a class are sent to study as a regular teacher, and most of the student courses are taught by regular teachers.

On December 5, 1984, the school promulgated the "Implementation Rules for the Trial Measures for the People's Scholarship".

On April 6, 1985, the Provincial Education Commission came to the school to inspect the music work.

On May 5, 1985, the first Teachers’ Congress was held.

In September 1985, the Pingyang County Party Committee appointed Xu Yusong as acting principal.

In January 1986, he participated in the Wenzhou Junior High School Performance and won the first prize.

On September 10, 1999, the Provincial Normal College Youth League Committee Secretary Meeting was held.

In November 1999, the Municipal Education Commission appointed Zhou Pingshan as the principal.

On December 9, 1999, the school won the first prize in the municipal college and technical secondary school student performance.

In April 2000, the Provincial Department of Education Zhejiang Teachers (2000) No. 101 stipulated that Pingyang Normal School was merged into Wenzhou Normal University.

On October 12, 2000, we hosted the city’s 2000 employment summary meeting for normal graduates.

On January 1, 2001, the Wenzhou Municipal People's Government decided to formally merge Zhejiang Pingyang Normal School into Wenzhou Normal University.
