The "Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin" class destroyer (KDX-II) is a new destroyer developed by South Korea in the second phase. Built by Daewoo Heavy Industries Okpo Shipyard, the first ship was launched on May 22, 2002, and is expected to enter service in November 2003. The first ship's hull number is 975.

The "Kwanggaeto the King" class destroyer (called in the West: KDX-I Okpo "Okpo") is the main destroyer independently developed by the Korean Navy. It was designed in 1986, built in 1994, and launched in 1996. It was equipped with the Korean Navy in July 1998. This class of ship is the first ship of the Korean Navy equipped with ship-to-air missiles and short-range weapons systems. It is a multi-purpose destroyer. There are three ships in this class, with hull numbers 971 to 973.

The "Chungbuk" class destroyers are the "Gearing" class destroyers produced by the United States during World War II. The "Keeling" class destroyers have been extended in service after modernization and modification, and some of them have been purchased by many countries. From the 1970s to the 1980s, South Korea successively purchased about seven ships of this class and modified them accordingly. Before the "Kwanggaeto King" class destroyers were equipped with the Korean Navy, the "Chungbuk" class destroyers were the absolute main force of the Korean Navy and the largest surface attack ships. At present, most of this class of destroyers have been withdrawn from active service.

The "Ulsan" class frigate is a multi-purpose, light frigate designed and built by the South Korean Navy. The power scheme of this class ship, "dual combustion and dual diesel", is rare among light frigates. Its speed reaches 34 knots, which is the highest among modern light frigates. The first ship of the "Ulsan" class was built in 1979, launched in April 1980, and entered active service in January 1981. There are 9 ships of this class in service, with hull numbers 951~953, 955~959 and 961. The "PoHang" class frigates are mainly used for coastal anti-submarine and patrol. The first ship joined the Korean Navy in 1984, and the last one was commissioned in 1993. A total of 24 ships of this class have been produced, making it the ship with the largest number of equipment in the Korean Navy. Due to the large number and construction by multiple shipyards, there are more or less differences between the ships of this class.

The "Zhang Baogao" class submarine is Germany's Type 209 conventionally powered submarine specially designed for export. This class of submarine has high reliability, a high level of control automation, a small crew and low noise. Except for the first "Zhang Baogao" which was built and imported from Germany, the others were assembled by Daewoo. Information shows that the displacement of this class of submarines is 1,476 tons, and the latter ones can launch "Harpoon" submarine-launched anti-ship missiles. It is estimated that there are about 10 submarines of this class at present, and the known hull numbers are 061~063, 065~069.

The "wonsan" class minelayers are equipped with air (sea) search radars and sonar systems. In addition to performing minelaying missions, they can also undertake anti-ship (submarine) missions. Data shows that the ship can carry 300 mines. At present, the Korean Navy only has one ship, manufactured by Hyundai Heavy Industries and commissioned in 1997, with hull number 560.

"Alligator" is the Western name for South Korea's Kojoonbong (Chinese translation?) class landing ship. The first ship was built in 1990 and entered service in 1993.

There are four landing ships of this class, with hull numbers 681, 682, 683, and 685

〖 The first ship of the "ChunJi" (Chinese translation?) class supply ship was commissioned in 1990. There are three supply ships of this class, with hull numbers Nos. 57, 58, and 59
