The meaning of this song is to always take good care of your own mentality and state of mind, and resist temptation and all kinds of evil spirits through constant practice. It is a mentality of joining the WTO, emphasizing the role of practice. This understanding doesn't quite agree with the epiphany of Zen Mahayana school, so when everyone saw this ji zi the next morning, they all said it was good, and they all guessed that Meixiu did it, and they admired it. Hong Ren didn't make any comments after seeing it. Because he knew that Shen Xiu had not had an epiphany.

At this time, when all the monks in the temple were talking about this ji zi, they were heard by Zen Master Huineng, a fire-fighting monk in the kitchen. Huineng asked others to take him to see this Kiko. It should be noted here that Huineng is illiterate. He can't read. When he heard someone say this Kiko, he said at that time that this person had not understood the real meaning. So he made another Kiko himself and begged others to write it next to the beautiful Kiko. Bodhi has no trees, and the mirror is not a stage. There is nothing, so there is no dust. With this poem, we can see that Huineng is a man of great wisdom (later, some people said that he was reincarnated as the tenth monk), and his poem accords with the idea of Zen epiphany. It is an attitude of being born, which mainly means that the world is empty and everything in the world is an empty word. If the heart is empty, there is no need to resist the temptation from the outside world. Everything passes by the heart without leaving a trace. This is a very high realm of Zen, and those who appreciate this realm are called enlightenment.

When Hongren saw the book, he asked the people around him who wrote it. The people on the side said that it was written by Huineng, so it was called Huineng. In front of him and other monks, they said that it was a mess and nonsense, and they also erased the auspicious words themselves. Then he hit Huineng on the head three times and left. At this time, only Huineng understood the meaning of the Five Ancestors, so he came to Hongren's meditation room in the middle of the night, where Hongren explained to him one of the most important Buddhist classics, the Diamond Sutra, and handed it to him. Then, in order to prevent the honey trap from hurting Huineng, Huineng was allowed to escape overnight. So Huineng went south overnight, lived in seclusion 10, and founded Zen Nanzong in Shaolin Temple in Putian. The next day, when Shen Xiu learned about it, he sent someone to chase Huineng, but he didn't catch up. Later, Shen Xiu became the protector of the Liang Dynasty and founded the Northern Sect of Zen.

3. Just because the rope is not broken.

In the early years of the Republic of China, a young farmer who thought he was smart was wandering in the village and happened to see a mad cow tied to a tree by a thick rope. It looks painful.

He had a brainwave and thought that there was a monk in a nearby temple who seemed to have an idea, so he wanted to try.

After entering the temple, he saw the monk meditating under the tree. He went up to him and said good morning. According to what he just saw, he asked casually:

"Ami camel Buddha! Why did you turn around? "

"Ami camel Buddha! Just because the rope is not broken. "

The farmer was startled and asked, "How did the master know what I was asking?"

"I don't know what you're asking." The monk shook his head and said. "But I know that people who are dizzy all day, no matter ghosts or animals, are bound by something, not by a rope or greed for fame and fortune."

The farmer was a little confused, but he seemed to wake up. He muttered to himself, "Master, I'm talking about a cow. It is tied to a tree, so it will turn. "

"Everything is reasonable. You are talking about cows, and I am talking about everything. " The master opened his eyes and smiled. "Whether cattle or people, as long as persistent, just like trapped, running around is inevitable. The more greedy and absurd, the deeper and deeper you will get. In this way, cows will become mad cows, people will become mad dogs, and eventually they will fall into ABI hell. That's all. "

"Oh, master, I have some understand. Then, how to get rid of it? " The farmer became humble and whispered.

The monk stood up, coughed gently and said, "Amitabha, the way out is very simple. The Journey to the West is famous all over the world. There are three other disciples in it: Wukong, Bajie and Wukong, and Wukong has the highest skill. Didn't that tell you the way out? "

"First, be sincere and kind, get rid of delusion and keep your mood spotless; Then we must get rid of bad habits and do something; Only in this way can we understand the Buddhist world where everything is empty and achieve a soul without greed and desire. " The monk continued, whether the farmer could understand him or not.

The young farmer was stunned. He saw The Journey to the West just for fun, but I'm not sure there is such a profound Buddhism! At this time, his mind was thinking about the cow under the tree, as if he had seen an insatiable ghost.

"Let me ask you." The farmer heard what the monk said. "I know you call us monks or monks, but do you know what monks or monks are?" "

"I don't know, ask the master for advice." The farmer said quickly.

"Monks and Shang are foreign Sanskrit. Monks are' teachers' and monks are' clean and pure people', so if you want to change, you must first have a monk's state of mind; If you want to get rid of it, you have to worship your' pro-teacher'. Hehe. " The monk nodded and said jokingly.

The farmer was a little embarrassed. But he is very satisfied, because he bid farewell to the "mad cow" in his heart, and he already knows how to stop running around. As the saying goes:
