They externally united with the king of Qi, the king of Chu and other princes to suppress the Lu family, and internally seized military power to stabilize the situation. Zhu Xuhou Liu Zhang first made great achievements by beheading Prime Minister Lu Chan personally, and was granted a salary of two thousand households by Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty.

In 178 BC (the second year of Emperor Xiaowen), Liu Zhang was promoted from Zhu Xuhou to King of Chengyang and founded the Chengyang Kingdom.

The original and defendant Liu Zhang, the king of Chengyang, cried in pain and said that from ancient times to the present, there has been such a way to resolve the case. If I don't beat you, you will be dissatisfied." He died in 177 BC (the third year of Emperor Xiaowen's reign) in 2002, and was given the posthumous title "Jing".

Liu Zhang married Lu Lu's daughter and had a son, Liu Xi.
