How to choose the quality of floor tiles

Online shopping has become a consumption habit, but tiles are different from other things, and there will be more doubts when buying than other products. In the colorful Taobao market, how to choose the one that suits you? How to choose the best one among similar products? How to choose tiles (or how to identify the quality of tiles)?

In the detection of ceramic industry, we often use such a sentence: "Look, listen, measure and measure four quantities".

The so-called looks:

1. See if there is a factory name, address and trademark on the outer packaging of ceramic tiles, so as to avoid buying three-no products (except for changing packaging for export to the domestic market).

2. Look at the glaze of ceramic tile, whether there are pinholes, spots, cracked glaze, glaze texture, trauma, color difference, delicate pattern, no obvious color leakage, dislocation, broken line or different shades.

3. See if the tiles are deformed and measure whether the two diagonal lines of the tiles are equal. Bricks with flat sides are easy to build. (Visual inspection method: put the ceramic tile on the plane to see whether its four sides are completely consistent with the plane, and at the same time see whether the four corners of the ceramic tile are at right angles, and then put the ceramic tile on the same variety and model to observe its color difference; Test method: Take out a brick, align two pieces, and the smaller the gap in the middle, the better. If it is a pattern brick, it must be made up of four pieces into a complete pattern, and it is also necessary to look at whether the pattern of the brick is coherent and clear. Put these bricks on one by one and compare their sizes. The allowable deviation of small brick is ±65438±0mm, and that of large brick is 2 mm.. )

Excellent products: at least 95% of the bricks have no defects when observed vertically at a distance of 0.8m;

Qualified products: When observed vertically at 1m, at least 95% of the bricks are free from defects.

Second, listen:

1. It can be tapped, and the crisp sound indicates that the porcelain density and hardness of the ceramic tile are high, and the quality is good (tap the floor tile gently by hand, and if the brick makes a "poof, poof" sound, it indicates that its sintering degree is not enough and its texture is poor. If it makes a slight "pop" sound, its texture will be harder than the previous one (in fact, the method is very simple. Knock by hand, high-density tiles will knock out the crisp taste of glass. Low-density tiles make a dull tile sound. )

2. Hold a corner of the tile with the thumb, forefinger and middle finger of one hand and hang it down easily. Tap the middle and lower part of the tile with the other index finger. If the sound is crisp and pleasant, it is the top grade; if the sound is dull and turbid, it is the defective product.

Three tests:

Look at the water absorption of tiles. The smaller the diffusion area, the longer the drying time, the lower the water absorption and the better the quality. Observe the ink/tea drops on the back of the tile. If the dripping ink/tea is absorbed immediately, it means that its compactness is poor, otherwise it is a good brick. Generally speaking, the lower the water absorption, the higher the strength and the better the frost resistance. If users buy tiles mainly for paving or outdoor walls, they need to buy products with low water absorption, such as porcelain tiles or stoneware tiles. If the bricks purchased by users are mainly used for indoor walls, such as kitchen and bathroom walls, you can choose products with high water absorption, such as ceramic tiles. However, it should be pointed out that such products have relatively high requirements for crack resistance, thermal shock resistance, pollution resistance and chemical corrosion resistance.

Four quantities:

In fact, the standard of four quantities also depends on the flatness of tiles, as well as the coefficient test and wear resistance test closely related to tiles.

(flatness test)

Wear resistance: Wear resistance can not be determined by the senses alone, but more may depend on some technical indicators. Among many standards, matching degree (also called wear resistance) is an important standard, indicating that the degree of easy wear of ceramic tiles can generally be divided into five degrees:

Grade I: The wear rate is the lowest, and it is generally used in exhibitions, walls and places with little activity.

Grade II: Ceramic tiles with wear resistance greater than Grade I are mainly used in bathrooms, bedrooms and other environments without hard friction.

Grade III: Moderate wear resistance, mainly used in places with high activity. Such as living room and kitchen.

Ⅳ degree: high wear resistance. It is very suitable for use in halls, corridors and public places of luxury houses.

ⅴ degree: There is no clear concept about the division of ⅴ degree. But in theory, it has super wear resistance and is generally used in non-home environments, such as airports and stations.
