Many people want to become a disciple and ask me why I don’t accept disciples. I have been teaching Jiang Taigong Qimen Dunjia since 1998 and have led countless disciples. In 2004, I began to recruit disciples. Now I will talk about my own views and opinions on the relationship between master and disciple. It is purely my personal opinion. In ancient times, there was a popular saying among apprentices: three years as an apprentice, five and a half years, and seven years to become a master. Therefore, in the past, learning skills usually started in "three years and one day". The so-called "three years and one day" means that after three years and another New Year's Day, the learning skills will be considered complete.

Before the Republic of China, the old rules for learning art were to discuss the matter with others, write a discipleship note, and establish a three-year apprenticeship rule. Then, accompanied by the introducer, the apprentice would bow down and kowtow to the master to become a disciple. present.

After entering the apprenticeship, the apprentice first does menial tasks, such as carrying water, sweeping the floor, etc., for about a year. After the master tests the apprentice, he begins to teach the unique skills. During the apprenticeship, the master is very strict with the apprentice. , some students wrote on the stickers that the master accidentally injured the apprentice, and he was not allowed to care about the incident.

After being an apprentice for three years, I heard and witnessed the process of the master's work, and learned all the skills of the master. When the apprentice is full, he is called a master; for the master, he is called a disciple.

Nowadays, people simply don’t have that much time to apprentice for three years. Everyone wants to learn a skill quickly, and everyone wants to be impressed by it for three days. The master wants to promote his heritage and culture, and at the same time, he wants to make money. To support a family, the rules for choosing an apprentice are just a matter of words, and the threshold for becoming an apprentice is too low. You can pay to learn Yi from a master. The master chooses an apprentice, and the apprentice chooses a master. It becomes a transaction of money, and even the master He will also look upon his wealthy disciples with admiration and respect him as a distinguished guest.

For the sake of fame and fortune, they just act sanctimoniously, take the master's achievements as their own, and even slander their mentor. He began to recruit many disciples, and he transformed from an unfilial disciple into a master who deceived the world and even claimed to be a great master.

Some people kowtow to their masters everywhere in order to learn Yi, saying that master and disciple are like father and son. Think about how many disciples can respect and support their master as their father.
