Introduction to Lao Minhang

Old Minhang is a popular place name, located in the southwest of Minhang District, which is the predecessor of Minhang District. In the early days of liberation, a large number of heavy industries moved from urban areas to the Huangpu River. With the continuous development of industrialization, many industrial workers gathered in LaoMinhang District, where they established families and gradually formed a large-scale residential area. Old Minhang can be divided into two parts. The old one is Jiangchuan Road, also called "No.1 Road", which is the core of the old Minhang. The business and living facilities here are very complete. The new one is Dongchuan Road, which is a new business circle rising after the opening of Rail Transit Line 5. Compared with Jiangchuan Road, the starting point is higher and the planning is more comprehensive, which is the development focus of Laominhang in the future. Only the old Minhang said that there was no new Minhang.
